It would be easy to focus on the negatives like semi hung curtains and mismatched carpet but it wouldn’t be fair to the property. Yes it is run down and could benefit from an upgrade but then it wouldn’t be the bargain it is. This hotel had a lovely vibe, the staff were lovely, the bed linen perfectly crisp and white and the bathroom clean. My room (6) also had lots of natural light, not a given in cheaper hotels. The location is perfect for a quick and regular bus into town and to get a cooked breakfast included in a room rate that was less than £100 was unbelievable. And there is free parking. If you’re in Edinburgh to see the sights and just need somewhere quiet and clean to rest your head, this is a great choice.

The hotel was plain, nothing too exciting or remarkable, but the staff made it a pleasant stay and they were kind. The elderly gentleman who welcomed us made sure we got breakfast at 5am because we had to leave early for a flight.
