Staff was very courteous and helped us with luggage since we were on the second floor. The breakfast served in the morning had a decent variety of breads, pastries, cold cuts, deli cheese. the eggs and bacon were cooked to order.
Some flaws: the rooms only have heaters not fans and we always run hot despite the cold climate so we slept with window open. The shower head had great pressure but the shower itself had poor insulation and therefore every time we showered the floor became a bit flooded
Would still recommend it since a cute boutique hotel.
Nice, cozy hotel, its unique wood setting as well as the beautiful furniture with nice history behind building it, was authentic.
Breakfast was great with such great friendly staff. It’s close to main restaurants and shopping area.
We had a wonderful stay at Madre Tierra. The hotel is located a few blocks off the main road which made it very convenient for shopping and dining out. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Madre Tierra!
Lovely hotel with a fantastic breakfast! Just two blocks walking distance to town makes this a great place to explore the Calafate area. The staff are very warm and the room was super comfortable with great bathroom products and small touches to make you feel right at home.
We had a lovely stay at MadreTierra - from our initiial welcome (including a refeshing glass of freshly squeezed juice) to the comfy room and delicious breakfast everything was great. Staff were also very helpful in arranging a taxi to the airport. Would highly reccommend!
This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. It's a boutique hotel with five-star service. Rosa and Matías and the other staff are phenomenal. They made us feel like family. The breakfast buffet is a huge and delicious spread. There are cafes and restaurants close by, but the street is quiet. It's a few minutes walk from the beautiful Nimez nature reserve. Truly, we did not want to leave this gem of a hotel. Calafate is a wonderful base to explore this area of Patagonia. It was a trip of a lifetime.
Very charming boutique hotel a short walk from the Main Street. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included and every day was many fresh fruits, made to order eggs and meat and a delicious variety of fresh pastries. I would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to my next visit! Thanks to everyone!
A very unique property, very nice staff with personal touch (rooms don't have numbers, they go by colors, and first names of the guests are written on the chalkboard on the door). There is a very cozy common sitting area with and even a yoga room.
And by the way, breakfast is delicious.
Great boutique Hotel. It was charming, and the staff was lovely. Except that it didn’t have air-conditioning. Still give it a 5/5. Breakfast was great.

Staff was very nice. Rooms were clean, but basic. There were no amenities at the hotel. Basic breakfast was served. The best part of this hotel is an outstanding local guide — Mariano. We were beyond thrilled with Mariano and his expert knowledge of the area. An exceptional guide! Great personality and highly knowledgeable of the most important area attractions. Very experienced and goes out of his way to make every outdoor excursion the very best. Mariano is a true find!
I travel quite a bit but was impressed with the staff. I especially want to thank Daniel who helped me with a late checkin. Never have I had such care taken of me by a staff member. He was marvelous.
