"Mountain view" means able to see the mountains from the porch, not directly from the window unfortunately. Still a great view. This place is great for the price. If youre the type that needs a bed and a shower and thats it, stay here. Its clean enough, nothing fancy. Comfy bed, tv with lots of channels. The restaurant is good too! Chipotle chicken sandwich is delicious, would eat there even if i wasnt already staying. Super convenient spot, no freeway noise either. Not many rooms so few parking spots. Be aware of local wildlife!

We had a wonderful stay at the Sierra Woods Lodge. The place was clean, peaceful, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the location was perfect close to nature but still accessible. Highly recommend for families and couples looking for quiet getaway. Special mention to The Rustic Table Restaurant. They serve tasty food at reasonable price.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was nice and warm, so we had a very comfortable stay. The attached restaurant was also quite good and the food was delicious. The only downsides were that the smell of the cleaning products in the bathroom was quite strong and the ventilation fan was very loud, but overall we had a good experience.

Had a nice stay here over the weekend! The staff is very friendly and quickly accommodating to any needs. The lodge is tucked away in a quiet, but not too secluded spot, so it’s very easy to find, yet is in a safe area & away from any busy traffic. The highway is just up the road, but the road noise gets muffled a bit by the forest between - very nice! I’ll stay here again for sure if I’m in the area.

Stayed here basically bc I was too tired to keep driving. I arrived late, rang the bell and quickly checked in. While the room is small, it was spotless, with a great shower! The bed was also very comfortable. The next morning, I had a fantastic breakfast at the on-site restaurant/coffee shop. The staff at the hotel and at breakfast were amazing. At the tail end of my breakfast, they had started their (impromptu?) local church service in the coffee bar area. I stayed and sang along a few hymns.

I love coming to Sierra Woods Lodge! I have been coming here for a year now for business! I love the people. They treat me like family. The Restaurant is fantastic! The rooms are comfortable, the showers are large. I really enjoy staying there.

A convenient and affordable stop on the way to Tahoe. Quaint lodge in a lovely natural setting. The roooms are small a little dated; carpet could be cleaned or replaced. But the bed was comfortable and the shower huge with good water pressure. The breakfast (paid) at the restaurant was very good. Downside: the restaurant was airing a Christian missionary talk at high volume which did not make for a quiet meal. Note, this is hotel is a treatment center for recovering addicts, run by a faith-based organization out of Monterey County (which explains the missionary talk). A worthy cause and a place worth staying.

The only thing I would suggest would be clear signage for the office for check-in but otherwise, it was a great place to stay for the price. It was clean, plenty of towels, and the staff was friendly. And my kids got to play in the snow right outside our room. Hope to return in the summer to enjoy the firepit and outdoor areas. The restaurant was also super convenient.
