Central to Falmouth. Room overlooking the harbour, was exceptionally clean. Staff are lovely, loved all the historic elements, good food options and a lovely pub right underneath. Quite a few stairs, so be warned if less able but i managed and im heavily arthritic. Couple areas where room walls could donwith a freshen up, but the fact it was noticeable was doilwn to everywhere else was clean and pristine.

Great stay in Falmouth
Superior room was comfortable and great value for money. Mid-winter so no noise issues from pub guests outside. Staff very friendly. The breakfast smashed avocado on baguette with a poached egg was very tasty, as was the scambled on baguette. The location is ideal for exploring the centre of Falmouth and the dining room has great harbour views. No parking but longterm parking options not too far away.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and modern and the breakfast and service was fantastic, a real gem of Falmouth.

Avoid. Incredibly noisy because outside your window the drinking and shouting at the outdoor bars goes on until we’ll after 1am. Then the crescendo of staff tipping thousands of glass bottles into bins. The walls between rooms are also thin but that’s nothing compared to the din from outside this timber hotel with old windows which do nothing to stop all the noise. Truly terrible.

We were made very welcome at the Chainlocker by all the staff who were clearly taking all measures to ensure safety guidelines with covid19 were adhered to. Very organised and well thought-out. The room was lovely, and very comfy bed. Good quality bed linens and very attractive interior with strong nautical theme. Very clean. Loved it! Th breakfast was really good ( we had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, well cooked and presented ) with beautiful views outside over the harbour entrance. Very friendly and attentive lady called Aida served us, always smiling! I worked in the Chainlocker 35 years ago when it was just a pub. I was blown away by the transformation of the accommodation and restaurant upstairs, and very glad to see the original pub/bar downstairs had maintained it's Cornish soul! We will definitely be coming again.

Weekend away.
Chain Locker is a vibrant friendly place, walking distance of good restaurants and shops. Food in the Chainlocker is very good if you don’t feel like going out. I enjoyed the interesting views of harbour while eating the lovely breakfast. The room was very well equipped, lovely onsuite shower. Due to the character of the place, the room was not large but functional. My feeling was it was great for 1-2 nights.

Only issue we had was given it was above a pub the people spilling outside later after closing time meant they hung around singing until 1am! Having said that everything was perfect and perhaps a small price to pay for such a great location and facilities.

The property is above a pub right on the harbor. It is just off the busy main shopping street and is close to loads of amazing eating options. the room was comfortable, neat clean and well-appointed.

First class hotel
This hotel was lovely, not the room I expected when booked but was a nice room with great views across Quay side. The staff were first class. Location was in the heart of the town so close to all amenities.

Great location next to the harbour
I have stayed at the Chainlocker on a numbe me of occasions. The staff are always helpful and cheerful providing a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The rooms vary slightly in size (not huge) but all are well upholstered and with a subtle nautical theme. On this occasion I was given an ‘in land’ view which basically means looking out across a narrow street - not great but the Chainlocker is in the heart of Flamouth next to the harbour so little need to stay in your room. In this roo, the walls were quite thin and the clattering of coat hangers could be heard as if they were in the same room. For the same reason doors slamming are quite loud too. On a more positive note, the breakfasts are always generous in portion size and tasty. The view across the river Fal is always amazing from the restaurant regardless of the weather.. The pub maintains its old original character, is welcoming, always busy and has some great local beers on offer. In the summer, the harbour side outside tables are always popular too. I would stay again but the sound insolatiion on the room walls needs to be addressed at some stage in the near future.

It’s got it all
With our eldest just starting Falmouth University we were looking for somewhere that we would want to return to as there will be many trips back to the coast. The Chain Locker ticked every single box. The newly renovated rooms and dining room were spotless, welcoming, comfy and the perfect place to relax. The sun was out so the harbour garden provided wonderful views as we supped many an IPA. The bars inside were full of character and history. Our room was beautifully decorated and gave us the home away from home we wanted. The food in the restaurant was phenomenal and we highly recommend those dishes with an Asian origin as the flavours were spot on. The staff were friendly yet unobtrusive and the whole place was professional and congenial. We have found our Falmouth getaway.

Loved my stay at Chainlocker! The hotel is in a great location, right in the center of Falmouth and overlooking the water. The rooms are modern and clean (I want their designer to decorate my house!), breakfast is delicious and made to order, and the beds are super comfortable. Since there is no A/C, there will be a little outside noise if you sleep with the windows open, but i wasn't too troubled by it. And I cant say enough good things about the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, especially Ellie. I would definitely recommend this unique hotel to friends!

very comfortable hotel in a pub like setting. The staff were wonderful and the food was good. The hotel does not have a car park but there are pay car parks nearby. The dining area had good views over the harbour...
