"The residence is in a quiet peaceful location reached via a windy hillly road. In the 4 nights we stayed in early September, we saw, from the large windows of our rooms, clear views of the hills and mountain, starry nights, misty cloudy views and even a lightening show. All spectacular. The two rooms were spacious enough and clean to our liking, affordable, the staff friendly and Chamonix a half hour drive away. "

"To say that the photographs of the apartment were misleading would be a misuse of the term. Totally mis-representational would be more appropriate (it was a completely different space). On arrival, there was no-one there to give us keys and no-one answered the phone when we tried repeatedly to call. "We stayed at La Folie Douce in Chamonix from Thursday to Sunday last week as a family with young children, and we had a great experience. This is clearly a festive hotel, popular with younger guests and couples, but we felt it was also very welcoming to families. Our children had a fantastic time throughout the stay. They loved the game room, which became one of their favorite spots, and we even used the outdoor pool despite the cold weather — the water temperature was perfect and made for a memorable experience. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, yet well managed. Noise was never an issue for us; everything settles down around 10pm, so nights were peaceful and we slept well. The rooms are on the smaller side, but very clean, well maintained, and functional. They accommodated our family comfortably. Service was a highlight. The main desk team was consistently cordial, kind, and proactive, always ready to help with a smile. Food options were also very good. The pizza at the outdoor restaurant was excellent and a big hit with the family. We also dined at Le Petit and ordered pasta — the quality of the food was outstanding. We didn’t use the spa this time, but from what we saw it looks high quality and well designed. Overall, a vibrant and fun hotel that manages to balance a party atmosphere with a family-friendly environment. We would definitely return. "
