During our time in Avignon, we stayed just across the Rhône in Villenueve-lès-Avignon. The gardens inside Fort Saint-André (Jardins de l'Abbaye Saint-André) were peaceful and beautiful. It was late September so it wasn't as colorful as I imagine it could be but it was gorgeous nonetheless.
