I had a solo room on the 2nd floor, it was really large, the room had a fridge which was great for saying money as you could stock up on groceries from the supermarkets thatd a 3 minute walk away. Great location just a few minutes from the station. The enterance was difficult to find and would have been nice to be given a little infomati9n on checkin about the kitchen and facilities but overall a really good stay.
The room had everything required. Simply furnished and with very comfortable beds and a good hot shower. Certainly a step above a youth hostel and suitable for the middle-aged and families too! A little noisy on a Saturday night as our room was above the front door but otherwise the hostel seems very quiet. Great location close to the trams and only an 8 minute walk from the train station.
For the price I paid, sharing with a friend, it was a really comfortable, safe stay. We were staying in one of the private single bed rooms - beds were comfortable and clean, room was well decorated (loved the graffiti mural on the wall), and the bathroom was well suited. The fridge was a really handy, especially with the Edeka nearby. Only downside of the room was it got quite warm and stuffy during our stay - however it was during a heatwave and the fan/shutters did help. Staff were kind, and was able to manage with my very limited German. Overall, I'll definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Freiburg!
We stayed 3 nights as part of a longer interrail trip. Good location close to the station and about 20 mins walk from the old town via the “blue bridge”. Our private room was surprisingly spacious and had everything we needed. We used the kitchen one night and it was fine. It’s not a “social” place as some other hostels are and the reception is only manned part of the time. That said we found the check-in process fine and overall it was good value for money.
This facility fulfills the needs: comfortable beds, hot shower, clean.
The location is good : a short walk to restaurants and shops, and the train station.
Plus (that we did not use) : the dining area and kitchen, the silverware available (for take out). It is also very quiet and warm.
The only staff we saw was at check-in, but we did not need anything.
Minus : the wider area with men waiting in front of the church, where we cut through until we found side streets to by pass the area.
It was also too hot and we had to leave the window open at night in winter : wasteful.
Conclusion : yes, we recommend it.
Good, basic accom with cooking option but no lift.
Big, clean, comfortable room, with double bed but two single duvets. Good sized wet room with non-slip showerfloor (but no plug of any sort for basin). No breakfast (or other meals) available but coffee machine at reasonable prices; also a well equipped kitchen and pleasant dining/sitting area. Small fridge in the bedroom. In a quiet area (very few people around in the evenings) 10 mins walkfrom the station, 15 from the historic centre. NB: Reception is on 2nd floor (my room was on the 3rd) and there is no lift. Very reasonable prices.
I recently stayed at this hostel and had an overall positive experience. The convenience of their passcode locked system for check-in was a highlight, allowing us to access our room even though we arrived at night when reception hours were limited. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free.
However, I must admit that the interior design materials used in the hostel weren't very aesthetic. The ambiance could definitely be improved with better design choices. Despite this, the comfort of the rooms and common areas was satisfactory.
The limited reception hours might be a drawback for some travelers, as it could be inconvenient if you have specific needs during non-reception hours. Nevertheless, the passcode system effectively mitigated this issue and made our stay more convenient.
In conclusion, while there were some areas that could use improvement such as the interior design materials and limited reception hours, the hostel's efficient check-in system and comfortable rooms made for a pleasant stay overall.
I was completely happy with all the service and interior of my room; I liked the nicely painted walls in a local style decor. It was quiet and all my fellow- guests kept the house rules.( In terms of silence at night) . So I wouldn’t hestitate to recommend the StayInn.

It may be in the wrong area for some. We wanted a place near the railway station. The reception was manned and the man was very helpful. It was great to be able to have the use of the kitchen, which was spotless. We easily walked in to Centre and if you wanted a meal there was a Greek restaurant opposite the hotel. Bedding and towels where clean and the room spacy with a door onto a Juliette balcony. There was a small bar fridge too. After 10.00 pm it was very quiet. Definitely use it again. Downside for some the stairs without a lift may be a problem

Decent place to a good price
Our stay in our room was good and to a good price. When we arrived the kitchen smelled really bad with leftover foods everywhere. We didn’t enter the kitchen again during our stay and we didn’t use it. The room was clean. The weird part was that we asked the staff at check in for advice and recommendations about the city. From the staff we got the answer that they don’t know and that we have Wi-Fi in our room and can google. Where is the service mind? If you don’t have any specific to say, at least, especially when it comes to Freiburg, you can say something like: “the Altstadt is just a 10 min walk from here which is really nice with a lot of stores and restaurants.” I mean, at least say something. It was a odd start to the stay…
Gut gelegene Unterkunft, Restaurant im Innenhof.
Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend.
Alles gut geklappt.
