"The room wasn’t cleaned properly there was urine on the toilet base there was still mounds on cleaning product I assume in the toilet bowl. There were hairs every where kids stickers stuck to the mirror it was a horrible stay"

"The Holiday Inn Express Rochester, on February 28 – March 3, lobby was under construction, it appears to be a limited face lift. Any 4 stars ratings are attributed to the “face lift”. The room itself and the staff were 5 stars. The room was clean. A lamp lite was out but was repaired early the next day – there were no excuses just a quick repair - nice. The bathroom was small but functional. I liked it – why waste space in a bathroom while taking away space from the living area? Getting used to the room's heater was interesting. It had a loud start then continue rapidly to heat up the room. The water in the bathroom was quick to heat up. The breakfast food was good. My schedule was busy. I did not have to time to see the Gym. The parking area was good. The snow plowed no issures there. Everything, shopping, restaurants were close by including the Highway. "

"The first room was a disaster. Housekeeping left window open trying to let the smell of piss and animal feces air out. We thought we smelled a odor. Closed the window came back later definitely was a odor. Housekeeping definitely didn't clean the room. Changed rooms at midnight after we came back from a comedy show, no issues after. "

"The whole hotel looks dingy and dilapidated. My entire floor smelled like weed. Staff is nice but rather vague and didn’t give great instructions for someone who had never been there before. I had to ask about the restaurant, the shuttle, etc. No information was volunteered. My room wasn’t very clean: chunks of grout had fallen out onto the floor, the room looked like it hadn’t be vacuumed, hairs that were not mine on the towels, etc. Also, there is no microwave in the room, and there is no safe. I expected better from a Marriott, and this does not encourage me to stay at another Marriott in the future."

"The room was smaller than expected but fortunately we were only staying one night. The room didn’t seem to have enough insulation and it was a cold, windy night when we arrived. The heating system worked great but the bathroom remained cold even with the door left open. It was easy to complete the check-in process and receive our door code. The only suggestions I would make is for more areas in the bathroom for supplies, maybe a small shelf and more drinking cups, only 2 were provided."
