"This is my honest review after staying 4 nights in the historic queen room with shared bathroom. Like many people I didn’t realize what historic means until I read the reviews here. I was really worried but it turned out that it was not bad at all.
-Room: we got room 204 on the second floor. It’s a small room, but clean with most basic amenities, including a small fridge. There’s a slightly sweet smell in the room which is a bit odd. Window view of the street and mountains. Thin walls so wear earplugs when you sleep.
-Bed: pretty comfy, not as good as a 5 start hotel but also not saggy. Most importantly, no bed bugs like some other reviews mentioned!
-Cleanliness: everything clean, bed sheets, pillows, towels etc. On par with other higher quality hotels we’ve stayed at.
-Restroom: probably the #1 concern people have. This is not a dorm style restroom with multiple toilets or shower stalls. This is a single occupied restroom that you can lock while using it. It’s pretty well maintained.
-Front desk: pretty friendly and helpful.
Obviously I can’t speak for other rooms, but at least room 204 and the second floor restrooms were overall much better than expected. So if you accidentally book a historic room, try asking for 204 or at least staying on the 2nd floor.
Still took 1 star off as I hope the hotel could better clarify what “historic” means so people don’t get confused when booking."
"The cabin was fantastic - clean,
comfortable, everything you needed and wanted and beautiful location! Did I mention the fresh coffee?! And the shower was hot and glorious. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend!"
"We had a great stay overall. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location and amenities made for an enjoyable experience.
One suggestion would be to add a playground for children, which would make the property even more family-friendly. It would also be great to see the hot tub brought back, as that would be a wonderful amenity for guests to relax and enjoy after a day of exploring Alaska.
Overall, a very positive experience, and we would gladly stay here again."
"we had a 2 bed room - its was large. Had a nice kitchen which was great for breakfast (Microwave only). One thing that would have been nice is to have a stove or hot plate to cook up some eggs and a toaster.
Would highly recommend this property."
