Great River Road, United States of America hotel rooms at the Independent

"The staff working the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean. The only issue was with the sink in the bathroom. There was very little water pressure for the cold water. The other sink was fine. The ice machine down the hall from our rooms (3030 & 3032) did not work. There was also trash on the floor by the machine and a toilet plunger. This does not look good."

"As with most hotels that have an adjoining casino, the room had no microwave or working refrigerator. Other than that, every area of the hotel & my room were very clean. I also had an extraordinary view of the Gateway Arch, Eads Bridge, and the Mississippi River. I will definitely stay at Casino Queen again in the future. "

"I never write reviews, but I'll make an exception just this once. Yes, the coffee and croissants at the Lobby Bar were surprisingly good. But Matt, the hotel's security officer, is simply an astoundingly decent human being who does his job with a rare sensitivity and wisdom. Thank you, Matt."
