“This bed and breakfast excelled beyond all expectations! The property is exceptionally beautiful with many historic features scarcely seen except in museums of great old houses. Our host couldn't have been more wonderful and he helped us out after a long ride on the Erie Canal Trail. The amenities were excellent. I would go to Fort Plain just to stay there again. “We had a great stay at the Balsam Inn! Everyone put their hearts into giving folks a great experience. My husband says the dinner was the finest he ever had, and I appreciated all the little things that made our travel easier (ice for coolers, a shared frig, absolutely lovely and plentiful bedding). “Scotty’s has a beautiful lake side property. I have been to numerous resorts and this resort is superior. Everything on the main strip is walkable, the resort has a massive beach along with water craft rentals, and there is numerous activities/games to play in the beach. Also to mention they have a lakeside bar and pool. Do not hesitate to book a stay at Scotty’s, it was a amazing time!”
