"Outrageous rate worth less than half. Anything but budget. Over $300 a night. Room not ready on time. Looking for check-in for 20 minutes. Check in is in the souvenir shop counter. Half a mile from the hotel. No signage to direct its customers. No coffee or tea in room or in the bldg. shower doors don’t fit well. Lack of enough electrical outlets in room Some renovation work still ongoing in the bldg. no drawers for clothes. Closet opened to bare brick wall and wood frame. only good things...

"Great view, that should be the only thing you book this for. Don’t count on out of this world food. In fact, I would say it’s well below average, especially for the price point at dinner. The cocktails are very good; I recommend the Viking Mule. Overall, 10/10 views and cocktails, 4/10 on everything else. Well worth one night though."

"I needed to sleep a night close to Flam and decided to take the touristic train and stay here on my way to Oslo. Beautiful hotel surrounded by mountains. Quiet, peaceful. Just beautiful. They have a restaurant which offered a delicious buffet. Very impressed. Definitely a spot for someone looking for tranquility. There is a trail too that can take you all the way to Flam. From here you can take the train to Myrdal station (1 stop only 3 minutes) and change trains to Oslo. Very easy!"

"Although the staff was courteous and friendly, our overall experience at the lodge was poor. The accommodation is way over priced for what it really is, a hostel. Guests have to make their own bed. A meal is offered for dinner (also expensive), but there are no choices as you would have in a restaurant. The pool was not functional. Direct contact with the property via email or phone prior to our arrival was impossible despite many attempts by us and by Expedia. If arriving by train, Travellers...

"The location is wonderful as the hotel sits by the fjord. Our room has two balconies with great views! The breakfast is exceptionally good with a lot of variety of food. Staff is very helpful. He allows us to trade two complimentary local beer to two bottle water."
