Judging by the pictures you might think this is a classy, well kept hotel on a beautiful lake, right? Wrong. This hotel is pretty old with only a few updated areas. The non smoking rooms wreak of cigarette smoke, the gym is an absolute joke and if you want to swim in the pool, they insist you wear a swimming cap! The western restaurant in the hotel is $20/person per meal and is sub-par at best. The surrounding neighborhood is pretty run down and isn't a great place to take a leisurely stroll.

Good location
Reasonable for price, close to pathway along the river
נהנינו מאד מהשהות במלון
נדרש לשיפור
ארוחת הבוקר יקרה מאד
המלון טען שלא קיבל תשלום למרות שהיה לי מסמך המאשר זאת עם תרגום לסינית

Nice location - be aware of your booking details
The first impression I got was unfortunately bad as they tried to downgrade the room. Instead of a Deluxe room with lakeview and king size bed, they tried to give me a twin room with two single beds and they were very stubborn about it. After some arguments I got the room I had booked. Breakfast was unfortunately not included. Besides that the hotel was okay, the room was not quite the value for the money, but clean and comfortable. The surrounding area is very nice, Take a walk around the lake or take a cruise on Li river and visit Red flute cave :)
Very nice for how primative the town is. GREAT location on the river, near West Street etc. Hotel can arrange any tours you want. Our biking trip around Yangshuo was the high light of our visit ti China.
We got upgraded to the 5 star portion which was very very nice. The staff, however, were pleasant and nice but not very helpful. I would avoid the hotel restaurant. I got very ill after eating the food there.
Ett prisvärt hotell med bra service och trevlig personal.

Good location but facilities could be better
We didn't know that there is an old wing and a new wing at this hotel. We only found out upon arrival and we decided to pay to upgrade to that new wing since the old wing looks very outdated. The new rooms are just okay, the design is a bit tacky for our taste and I was disappointed with the extra bed we requested which was old and smelled bad. They only changed the sheets when I asked them to do so! The only advantage is that the hotel is by the lakes and is surrounded by mountains. Other than that I would try a different next time.
I was only there for three days but I found that the Bravo Hotel more than met my expectations and needs. It is an older hotel but has been well maintained and has had adequate upgrades/renovations over the years. The rooms are very clean, good size for 1 or 2 people and I found the bed very comfortable.
Right across from the hotel entrance is a very beautiful park that winds around the shore of the lake.
The hotel is not located in the heart of the business district so it's a good idea to have the hotel name and address written in Chinese to show cab drivers.
Bravo Hotel is in center of city and however the area is very peaceful and nice, few hudred meters from the biggest street and shopping area, walking distance to Elephant Trunk hill, beside the lake and big park. Service is good, room was clean and nice, staff helpful. The only thing I was not very satisfied, was the buffet breakfast (bread was not fresh and so on). I had it just once and then other times I took my breakfast at a small cafe´ nearby. But otherways excellent hotel.
Best budget hotel for westerners.
Nice rooms - comfortable
Lots of staff, good internet.
Kinda cold pool.
Guilin is kinda tricky with all the scams for tourists.
- Dont get a taxi at the door, walk to the main road and get a taxi and have them use the meter instead of riding my a predetermined price.
Not too many good restaurants close by.
After a long bout of traveling, walking into the Guilin Bravo Hotel was like entering an oasis. I was thrilled at the quality of the hotel for the price and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I even considered extending my reservation a bit longer just to enjoy its comforts. One must be aware you cannot flush toilet paper down the toilet! It is the only Western amenity the hotel lacked; otherwise it was wonderful. I also ate at The Patio--an on-site restaurant. The food was mediocre but the ambiance and furnishings were stellar and the staff very accommodating and extremely pleasant. At the end of my first meal, I was given a card to rate my experience thus far at the hotel and one of the questions asked if I would change anything about the hotel. I wrote the I would like to have free wi-fi in my hotel room just thinking it would be a good note for the hotel in the future. I then went to my room and in less than 10 minutes, a hotel staff member was knocking at the door to set up wi-fi in my room. Remarkable! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to stay there in the future.
Guilin Bravo Hotel is nicely situated within the city. It’s easy walking to restaurants and other stores. The lake in front has a nice walkway around it. If you are touring the area the hotel has a very accommodating travel center within the hotel. The room was clean and comfortably furnished. The restaurants at the hotel are nice but a little on the expensive side. All in all I would stay there again on my next trip.
Very good-value hotel and kind service.
Correct free-flow breakfast buffet (90CNY).
However, looks like they are arranging some scams with lobby taxi drivers.... Overall taxi drivers were often trying to rip us off, but most of the times it happened, it did from the hotel lobby !
Good position surrounded by beautiful gardens, lake and river. We stayed on the 9th floor of the new building with views of river. The room was very large and well fitted out, Large king bed with quality bedding. Good size bathroom with separate large shower, good hair drier & plenty of toiletries. Free Internet service. Our room was spotless.
Lovely pool, good breakfast area. All staff managed the English language well. Walking distance to every thing. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Bright and airy. Location was great. Staff were helpful, courteous and friendly. The buffet breakfast was great except for the coffee. Shops and restaurants nearby.
Very nice hotel, great service and location. Western style breakfast buffet a bit on the high side compared to local prices, but it is to be expected. Overall, you cannot go wrong with this hotel.
We had a great time. The Li River cruise was a wonderful experience and the most beautiful scenery I have seen in a long time. Elephant trunk hill was also a great experience and the caves are definitely worth seeing. We stayed at the Bravo Hotel and the lake right there is so wonderful to walk around. At night the lights around the lake are so romantic and inviting. The boats going up and down the canal are so nice to watch, day and night.
