Highly recommend for solo travel. I had a private room with ac and access to private washrooms for my 4 night stay. The staff are so kind and accommodating.
This is an excellent place to stay for a short visit to Halifax. It is close to all tourist sites (we walked or cycled everywhere), parking is free and the rooms are roomy with lots of storage space to unpack your bags. Laundry facilities were a welcome surprise.
Located within walking distance of many restaurants, cafes and tourist sites.
Staff (who are students at the school) are knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
I thought that the location was great. I would note that the building an older one, so there were some creaks and things, so if you are a light sleeper this may not be suitable. Additionally keep in mind that washrooms are separate, so if you need to go in the middle of the night you do have to leave your room. Its a dorm style.
We didn’t know what to expect when staying at King’s College for our trip to Halifax but we were pleasantly surprised. The double room spaces are quite large, the price is affordable, and the staff are generous and work hard to make the stay enjoyable for you. Would definitely stay again!
Perfect for a short stay or for students. I was there with my daughter for one night and it served its purpose admirably. The room was clean and the staff very helpful. We arrived well before we could check in, but we were able to stor our bags for $10 a piece. The room was clean but it was a bit noisy - not a problem for me since I always bring ear plugs. The bathroom was well maintained and the showers were quite good. I would definitely recommend to people, especially students or couples who don't mind shared amenities.
Room was large and well maintained, but hot af. There is no a/c, we were not even provided with a fan. It was unbearably hot.
Staff are friendly. Check in and out was easy.
I would stay again, but not during a heat wave.
If you know what sleeping in a university residence room is like then the experience is perfect. Loved the location, parking, and check in. Super convenient.
It was a unique experience and would recommend staying there. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean. If you are looking for a safe budget friendly place to lay your head this is a good spot for that.
One thing I would suggest would be having a second blanket in the room in case it is needed in the middle of the night.
If you want a safe, budget-friendly stay in Halifax, this is a great option. It has security, free parking,
and a central location.
The accommodation is very basic- bed, towels, soap and shampoo- but if you are here to see the city. you do not need a fancy room. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable.
The staff was vey friendly and helpful.
For the price this place was perfect clean simple liked having separate sleeping areas for each bed. It wasn’t really a room for relaxing though but for a clean safe place to stay while exploring Halifax, it was perfect room didn’t come with water, but it does have a fridge you have to be prepared for communal washrooms on each floor.

Liked: Staff & service
Just needed a place to sleep for a night and this was the most affordable place with two beds in a room. Had to pay for parking to avoid a ticket or leave before 8am on a weekday. It was a nice quiet evening but unfortunately construction started across the street at 7am. The washrooms/shower area had a weird smell and didn’t seem like it’s cleaned often throughout the day. The place definitely needs updates inside (the outside was lovely). It was perfect for what we needed though. Staff were great. Bring fans cause it’s very warm in the summer!
