When we arrived they informed us that the pool would be close. In fact it was closed until the day we left. Room had no window, basically a jail Cell !!! Absolutely terrible room. At least the staff was very nice"

"Pousada D’ Areia was excellent. When we arrived everyone was very welcoming. We were checked in very efficiently. The rooms were very clean and organized. The breakfast was delicious, and had a nice variety. The manager Vânia made my wife’s birthday very special, by decorating our room per request. And all of the staff were very helpful, and friendly."

The place is close to the main town but you’ll either need a car or find transportation. There is transportation available though (from the local services…). "This is a very basic posada in a great location within easy walking distance to the river district. AC and WiFi worked well during my stay. The on-site staff were helpful and tolerant of my lack of Portuguese. Breakfast was nothing extravagant but just fine."
