The room was clean. The bathroom light didn't work and we were told we would have to use the communal bathroom instead. Couldn't open the window. Room had air vent from kitchen outside window.

This is a beautiful pub with a great restaurant and outside seating area. It's in a fantastic location - I can't fault it. My review on the room is based on my own error - I somehow managed to book a room without bathroom. We only stayed for one night so it wasn't a major thing but having to walk down the corridor in the middle of the night was not something I was that keen on - but, again, that was entirely my own fault as I booked in a hurry and booked the wrong type of room. Saying that, though, we had the choice of several bathrooms and toilets (mostly as the other guests cleverly booked the en-suite rooms...) and they were all perfectly fine and clean. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean and I would definitely stay there again for the location and convenience to access local walks etc - although I would definitely make sure to book an en-suite room then...

If you are looking for a basic room in a pub then this is good. Noise from bar below can be late at weekends. Food was good in bar. Having been there during a heatwave it would have been nicer to have some water in the room and blinds that were blackout rather than just plain cotton.

Great little budget option in a beautiful little village. We walked into Brighton for a festival and whilst not hugely far (about 12k to Preston), there was a beast of a hill on the route - fun in itself but it was very hot! The pub looked great and the cafe had excellent pastries and cakes which we fortified ourselves with before our walk. We had our own bathroom which was a surprise (even though it was a tiny walk away) and everything was clean and tidy. Point to note - whilst there's not amazing public transport options from Ditchling itself, neighbouring Hassocks has loads (including very late train services) so worth looking into.

Small, I mean really small box room NR 3. Two single beds and literally no space for stuff or walk. No table or cupboard. Tablet size TV. This room should be single bed only with essential stuff inside not twin room for profit aimed management.

There actually was not a breakfast. However, the hotel includes a charming pub where we enjoyed an excellent pub lunch. As a whole we very much enjoyed the White Horse Inn. Our room seemed a little small and we shared a bathroom. We did find a restaurant within a short walking distance where we enjoyed breakfast.

Terrible I couldn’t stay there, could not move in the room it was so small and dingy. Tv the size of a place mat which didn’t work. There were stains on all paintwork. Wardrobe was like a bathroom cabinet fastened to the wall. Absoultly terrible.

Everything was very clean and lovely and the bed was very comfortable did have a good nights sleep.,plus good choice of food but they didn't serve breakfast..no worries there's a couple of very good café that do.

I was well looked after by the staff, who went out of their way to be helpful and booked a very reliable taxi service on my behalf. Lovely village and a good set of church bells! Would stay again.

There was a slight admin error when I arrived which was quickly sorted by the staff. Then, I was shown to the room which they had sorted for me. It was small (which I had booked and no problem) but the emergency light had an annoying green L.E.D which did not turn off and made sleeping much harder. In addition, the bathrooms were elsewhere in the building which is fine but they did not have room numbers on meaning that when I came to use my bathroom the following morning, I could not as someone was in it already. I used another one which was unoccupied but could easily be remedied.
