"Good wi fi building is a bit tired but my room was good. Reported bedside light not working which was noted immediately "

"The hotel is clean and attractive with good facilities. Unfortunately my experience was not good, my room lost power at 9pm, I reported it to reception and was asked to wait at the bar while they investigated. After an hour the receptionist informed me they could not restore power to my room, I said that I was not happy to stay in a room without electricity and asked to be moved to a different room but was informed they were fully booked. So I had no choice but to check out at 10:30pm to try to find alternative accommodation, the receptionist was not abke to refund my stay when I checked out and was told the reservations manager would do it the following day. I have called the hotel today but the reservations manager is not at work, so now I am chasing Hotels.com for a refund while they liaise with the hotel and am faced with a 24-72 hour wait for a refund. I am sure if you stay at the Guildford Manor Hotel and Spa you won't face similar issues, but my experience has been a bad one. "

"The staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was perfect. We stayed on after checkout and used the facilities in the bar and had a walk around the estate. Breakfast was great and overall our stay was amazing."

"Easy check in, spacious rooms with tv in bedroom and lounge, lovely large bathroom with deep bath and walk in shower. Great location however, be mindful that the road is closed as a pedestrian walkway from 0900 but this isn’t a problem as there are parking facilities close by and for me as a blue badge holder there were plenty of spaces close enough. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family. "

"We stayed at Thatcher’s Hotel (part of Surya Hotels) for three nights during half term. Overall, it’s an average hotel but offers good value for money. The rooms have been renovated and are modern and comfortable, and the beds were very comfortable which we appreciated. However, there were a few downsides. The room was extremely hot during the night, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. Breakfast was average — nothing special — and dinner in the evening was also average but quite expensive for what it was. The location is on a main road near a petrol station, so it’s not the most scenic setting. You do need to drive to find somewhere nice for a proper walk. It’s also worth noting that during our stay we were the only guests with children, so it felt more like an adult-focused hotel rather than a family-oriented one. In summary, it’s fine for a short stay and reasonably priced, but don’t expect anything exceptional."

"Had a great stay atvyhe Hurtwood. Found it by chance. Great village with plenty of walking direct in to the Surrey Hills as directed by the lovely lady who checked us in. Room very comfortable with fresh milk provided. We found the car park easy for a big car, but would not be so easy in season I think. Dinner in the bar was excellent and good portions. Breakfast cooked to order also great. Will go again. Thank you."
