Price was the best in the area, and for that price the Inn was very good - clean sheets, hot shower, quiet to sleep in. Can't beat that for the price.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Great family that runs it. Took me in in the middle of the night soaking wet and frozen from riding. Literally got out of bed to check me in! So nice and friendly!
Toilet was dirty. Door had big gaps so the room was cold. Outdated tv. Left a day early because i gound a roach in the bathroom. Got pulled over coming in and was investagated for drug activity because the hotel is know for that.
When we arrived they did not have our names, just ask for the type of room. Although almost empty they did not have a king bed available. They gave us the room with the Jacuzzi at no extra cost. The lady was polite, but the place was a mess. It needs a full upgrade.
Got two nights online got there and it was getting remodeled trash everywhere and construction materials charges me for one night even tho I online booked 2 so I was like whatever I know that’s weird but I’ll probably get charged again tomorrow I come back after the wedding I went to and all of my stuff was thrown in a garbage bag not gently or neatly all just thrown in there and over $40 of food thrown away barely even got a sorry.
The whole facility is in need of repair. The people are wonderful, but the rooms need some help. The only positive is that a new toilet had been installed and worked properly. The beds were okay, but overall not much has been done to update since the 1960s.
Under construction and not informed on web site.
Water contaminated..had to wash up with bottled water, which I purchased. Given 2 bottles when I saw the water contaminated sign.
Purchased my own bedding…mattress was filthy.
Refrigerator was so dirty. Had to Lysol everything!
No closet to hang clothes.
This all should have been addressed on the web site
The property was disgusting, smelled like mold and mildew, broken down car parked outside, AC didn't work well, no smoke alarm, dirty bed sheets, dirty nasty carpet, gross bathroom, locks didn't work correctly on doors. Peephole was removed to leave an open hole, bedbugs, 'parking lot' in rear was non-existent, full of mud and potholes. Laundry, vending and ice machines, all unplugged or broken. No coffee pot or table and chairs in room. Used mattresses and furniture and appliances all lined the back porch. Believe ALL bad reviews!! Would add pics, but wouldn't let me.
Didn’t know about the fire on 1/2 the rooms. Staff said all cables burnt up so no TV. I guess that’s why the smoke detector is missing in the room too, lol.
Despite booking a reservation, they did not have the reservation, and they said they had no rooms available, despite there only appearing to be a few cars in the parking lot. It seemed like part of the ceiling was falling down inside, and it was generally poorly kept.

My stay
Everything was older in the room but working. The tv had a remote but you had to turn it on using a button on the tv. Took us awhile to figure it out. Saw electrical work that had been done and know that it was not inspected by anyone. The wire for the ceiling light was exposed as it ran to the exhaust fan. There was not much noise and people were courteous.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
I am not the kind of person to write bad reviews but feel people should know they’re getting a less than satisfactory place to stay. While the older couple running the motel were obviously doing their best, the facility had several issues beginning with the check-in computer not working. It appeared they’d been attempting to keep track of reservations on a notepad, but ours was not there. They eventually went upstairs to look it up via Expedia on their cell phone. Eventually we got two keys (real ones!) for our room. The keys would not open the outside door, so we had to go back in, down the hall which had its carpet removed, to get in our room. The odor permeating the entire facility was of curry. Once in the room, we observed the following: torn carpeting, cracked tiling in the bathroom corner as well as a lot of accumulated dirt, clothes stickers on the wall, dust/dirt along the tile edge, stained tub, and sheetrock dust along the baseboard & floor in the main room. I can say the beds were clean & the ceiling was actually the nicest thing in the room. TV & refrigerator & AC worked fine. It looks like they were planning renovations with piles of plywood outside- but maybe they should consider closing down during renovations?
I wouldn't let my worst enemy stay there... First, there were boarded up doors and windows on the first room next to the main entrance. Second, we arrived at 6:30pm and there was a sign at the front desk that said "Back at 7", so there was no one there to even book us in... There was no heat in the lobby at all, it was ice cold. There were ceiling tiles missing all through the hallways, there was a white christmas tree with lights on it (plugged in... FEBRUARY!) WHY IS THIS PLACE EVEN ALLOWED TO LIST ROOMS AVAILABLE???? We got right back in our vehicle and left... NIGHTMARE!!!
I didn't like anything. I take that back. They did have hot water and the a/c worked. The towels in the bathroom needed to be replaced. The light over the Sink, you had to plug in to socket. The hot water knob on the tub was hanging on by a thread. I floor or rug was dirty. One walk across it and my socks were dirty, TV didn't work. Bed was poor and pillowcases and sheets need replacing. That Inn was by far the worst I've ever stayed in. The door going outside was damaged by a dog i guess. the security chain was missing. The office was trashed. I guess that is enough. The girl waiting on me was nice. She cancled my next two nights......
This applies to guys, if you need an affordable place to stay for the night, get up brush your teeth and leave, then this is it.
Ladies don't even think about staying here, you will cry and you will be pissed off at your man, if you stay here.
I checked in late at night, took a shower, warmed up my food container, then went straight to bed. I woke up brushed my teeth and left.
I told the staff that one of the outlets stopped working and that the microwave didn't have a glass plate.
They said they would look into it.
They are renovating the place as well. so hopefully it gets better.
Colonial Inn is a Hidden Gem off the beaten path! Check-in and check-out went by very quickly as they were ready for our arrival. The motel itself is so quaint that it reminded me of my stay in Branson, MO a few years ago. The value was superb, and they had both a microwave and a refrigerator in the room! Sleeping was comfortable. I highly recommend Colonial Inn!
