The George hotel is historically stunning!! The entire hotel holds so much beautiful character, from the sitting rooms to the restaurant. The restaurant is also gorgeous, overlooking the river and their lovely gardens, not to mention that the food was very much fine dining for a low price.

Good location to explore Hadrians wall. Staff friendly. We were upgraded to a superior double room so had nice lake view. Food good and was reasonably priced and do were the bar drinks. Good 3 star hotel.

The room was nice spacious but could use an update. And they made a fuss about me not wanting to eat in the special 'dog-area' because it felt like being put away... and too hot. i wanted outside but there they didn't serve... finally it was okay but i had to stand my ground and that was not so nice after a very long day's walk... beautiful sitting area outside though!
