Great stay, the room was well presented, warm and cosy. The staff, friendly. The meals in the pub, excellent. Breakfast in the tea room was also 1st class.
On our second night, we went to the pubs sister pub, The Anchor, and listened to the folk club. Absolutely brilliant. We will be back.
Hotel is in amazing Peak District area. Located above the pub but we wasnt bothered about any noice. Room and amenities are a bit dated but its comfy and pleasant. Its great for the location.
Great staff, excellent food and good variety to choose from. Room a little tired, but clean and tidy and very comfortable. Lovely stay would definitely return.
We had a lovely stay this week in this hotel. Room was clean. They had a fire going virtually all day downstairs so we ate there both nights. Lovely food. Staff very friendly
We enjoyed our stay. The annual cider festival was in full swing when we arrived, but this wasn't really an issue. Food was great. Staff were helpful. It's a pub... and a good one.

A walkers hostelry.
Staff very welcoming and pub busy due to arrival of off road bikers and a motor cycle group- who remained outside and were no problem. As only pub open a number of locals and small folk music group present. Room a bit dark as property very old and en-suite rather basic. Carpets on stairs to rooms need replacing. Breakfast was limited due a problem however again staff very good.
Lovely location and great pub. Food not fancy and just standard pub grub. Room spacious, clean and comfy but walls really thin and I could hear snoring and morning sound effects through the walls. Toilet flushing sounded like a coffee grinder and not great if wanting to sleep!
We don't usually stay in a B and B but we booked this one for a Terrorvision. gig in a cave in Castleton. It was a beautiful walk to and from the venue.
The room was absolutely lovely and the staff were brilliant.
Free parking made the deal even sweeter.
We would definitely stay here again.
PS... Terrorvision absolutely rocked the cave. xx

Was dissapointed the room was cold when we got there. But it warmed up when we put the heating on. Big disappointment was breakfast was not included in the price. £115 I’ve never booked an hotel that doesent offer free breakfast I’m sure it was listed has free. But we had to pay. The pub food was excellent. So we will be back for the food
Great nights stay, lots of free parking, big room, lovely bathroom and fabulous food, the staff were super friendly especially the young lady who looked after us in the restaurant on the Friday night.
The hotel was very cozy and welcoming. The food was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
And breakfast the following morning was a delight.
Very happy with our stay. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable and bathroom was clean and the shower was easy to use. The only slight problem was we were in room 2 and the traffic outside was a bit noisy!
Great little pub and restaurant with tea rooms annexed (that also do a breakfast). The noise from the bar travelled up but thats to be expected.
The bed could have been comfier.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff , unfortunately kept awake til 2am on the second night by guests (or locals) chatting in the bar area below. Woken up that morning by the adjacent launderette in full action!
