2/5 - Disappointing
They tore down all the businesses and put up a parking lot. The area is depressed

Only hotel in area honestly a little pricy in my opinion for a standard room .. almost 200 a night is HIGH but since they have the monopoly of the area I guess they are able to charge so much because there is no other place to stay unless you are adding an hour commute into Iron Mountain

Nice mom & pop hotel. Clean. Not the fanciest, but comfortable. Really nice staff.

I did not have a kitchen in my suit but the hot tub was perfect

The staff was very pleasant and quick to respond to any questions I had. Having a 7 eleven right downstairs was perfect. This place would be 5 stars if the bed and couch bed were more comfortable. The couch bed frame was bent so my sister had to sleep on the couch regularly which was uncomfortable. ...

Iron River is a rundown impoverished Rust Belt village. Surrounding countryside is beautiful but the town itself has absolutely nothing to offer but sadness and depression.
We found most of the businesses on what seemed to be the main street in town, closed, on a Sat night. We went to a sketchy loud bar for a burger and cocktail. Patrons stated theyd been drinking since 10;30am. This was about 7pm. Food was good tho.
We didn't spend a whole lot of time in Iron River. What we did see we liked. Maybe next time we come. We did go to Crystal Falls where my daughter and her Fiance' bought a house. We did go down the Painted River Kayaking which was so much fun.
We ate at Riverside Pizzeria the first night and the pizza was awesome. The second night we ate at the Outer Limits Bar and Grill. Their fish was truly out-of-this-world! I can't stop thinking about the Cod tenderloin with the best breading!
Just your average smaller town plenty of restaurants which is nice.
