"OK Lodge is just a name; what is is is a (nicely) extended and converted terraced house opposite a park; so now a few studio flats, with some common areas. Modern and clean but a couple of issues - like oven not even wired in; no table to eat off; and also whilst we booked for 3 adults and was confirmed; they called to say max was 2 adults & a child and would not refund the extra £50 for the 3rd adult (who couldn't now come of course) and I had to go through Expedia to get resolved. "Stayed here to break up the journey driving from France to Manchester and chose it largely based on price so I wasn't expecting much and therefore was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very clean, rooms were a good size, beds really comfy and staff welcoming and professional. Kids loved the fishtanks, a great touch. Breakfast was really busy at 9am but the staff worked hard. Cereal, toast, coffee and a full English were all had. My only criticisms are that the room was a bit dated and the bathroom needs a facelift. The shower was powerful enough but the showerhead was fixed and low (I'm only 6ft) so a bit awkward. The tv is small and far away from the bed but that's just me being picky. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely stay here."

"The bedding could have been cleaner, there were some stains on the silk and dust across the tv unit area. The hotel WiFi kept losing connection. The restaurant area, could have been dusted down before we were seated. The glass roof and doors had stains and bird poop which is not pleasant to see especially when you are eating. Staff were friendly but the overall maintenance could have been a lot better and cleaner."

"Here’s a polished version of your review: We’ve just returned from a weekend stay here and had such a lovely time. The hotel is beautifully clean, and our room was spacious with everything we needed. The girl at breakfast (I believe her name was Olivia) was especially wonderful! So friendly and welcoming. She mentioned she had only just started, but you would never have known. She was attentive, confident, and made the experience even more enjoyable. The chef was also fantastic and kindly prepared veggie sausages for us. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Canterbury. Thank you for such a great stay!"

"I was a little worried after reading some of the bad reviews, but overall, we had a good experience. Having read the comments about noise, I specifically requested quiet rooms, preferably on a higher floor, at the rear of the hotel, or away from the gym and lift. The hotel responded very quickly and kindly assigned us rooms 216 and 217. The rooms were nice and clean, and we had no complaints. However, later in the evening, we noticed there were pubs and parking areas directly outside our windows. It was Sunday night, but there were still people drinking outside. Fortunately, we couldn’t hear much from the rooms, although we could hear some voices echoing in the bathroom. The people outside had gone before 1am, and as I usually stay up late, they didn’t disturb my sleep. However, if you are particularly sensitive to noise, I would recommend avoiding these rooms. I think the hotel should also be aware of this when allocating rooms. Continental breakfast was included in our stay. There wasn’t a huge choice, but my sons ordered the cooked breakfast for an additional £10 each, which looked good. Unfortunately, it took quite a long time to arrive, and we had to rush to our first booked visit. We allowed one hour for breakfast, but that wasn’t enough. It sounds like I’m complaining but honestly, I’m not! The location was good, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and nothing seriously wrong with our stay. Overall, we were happy with our choice of hotel for visiting Canterbury."
