"Great location between train station and downtown and ferry docks to Portofino, Fruttoso, etc. We based here to explore Cinque Terre, Portofino and Santa Margherita Hotel features an excellent gym, helpful and engaged staff, clean rooms, solid WiFi and seems dog friendly. The property is well maintained and looks much younger and hipper than the 20 years it’s been around. I’d definitely would stay at LHP again. Did not try food or drinks, but breakfast was 30 euros per person."

"Nice location, however expedia should diaplay a warning..risk of death or serious injury during the drive up to the hotel. It is very dated and not well kept. Our balcony door was jammed and would not open.we drove at night and its literally on topof the mountain with no guard rails. No restuarnts are walking distance and we didnt feel safe driving down from the mountain to grab a bite. Hotel restaurant closed at 930pm, luckily we were able to order food delivery. "Great location especially if you're planning on using the Genoa Principale train station. Property shares amenities with the hotel next door and the lobby bar, lounge area and terrace are beautiful. Parking is a bit tricky but best to pay the small premium on hotel valet if you have a car. Old school elevator is great! Didn't get a chance to use the spa but would definitely stay there again if in Genoa. Best cappuccino and breakfast pannino is at the stand across from the train station and best apperitivo & snacks was at Bar delle Vigne with locals after work. Genoa was grittier than we thought but loved it especially when taking a wrong turn into their red light district. Great start to visiting the Italian & French riviera."
