Ini yg kedua kali Menginap disini setelah satu tahun dan selalu pesan kamar balcony dg sea view, rasanya selalu menenangkan menghirup udara segar laut dan mendengar alunan suara air laut,..makanan cukup banyak variasi, receptionist (si cantik asal makasar) sangat ramah, semoga bisa kembali ke papua dan bermalam di swissbel lagi tentunya.

Newly remodeled rooms. Breakfast is good. We were not notified ahead of time that the pool was closed for maintenance. They just told us when we had already checked in. The main reason we chose this hotel over others nearby was for the pool, so it was very disappointing to not be able to swim.

Zeer goede ligging in Jayapura

Dit hotel heeft twee gedeelten. De laagbouw is wat ouder en iets gedateerder maar nog steeds erg mooi; de hoogbouw met uitzicht op de baai van Jayapura is geweldig. Dat heeft onze voorkeur gehad. Dat betekent de luxe kamers met sea-view. We vonden het ontbijt wat minder en ook het entertainment in het hotel met eten A la carte wat minder. Er speelde elke avond wel een bandje maar niemand die er naar luistert. Ze spelen dus voor een lege lobby. Desalniettemin een van de beste hotels in Jayapura, zeker wat de ligging betreft, vlakbij allerlei restaurants waar je heerlijke verse vis kunt eten.

Swiss Bel is definitely the nicest hotel in the area and the pool is huge bonus with kids. You will not forget you are staying in a developing country however. But it is safe and in a good location.

Stay 4 days at here, have been the second time staying here. My very concern that they need to make a major maintenance because I can see mole at the wall and some ceiling are going to broke down. Nice location surround by many restaurant and easy to access for the location. please consider my suggestion because it was one of the best hotel at Jayapura for now.

Strategic Location

Could not get the normal hotel that I stayed before and most of the hotel in the city were full and the only reasonable one left is Swiss-Bell Hotel. I would say I'm satisfied with the hotel, but the hotel needs to be refurbished. The overall cleanliness needs to be improved. I found that there wasn't enough ventilation in the bathroom, so when I had a hot shower, the whole room was full with steam, luckily it didn't activate the smoke detector. I also found the sink wasn't properly clean, the kettle was dirty and smell, and alot of black marks around the room. The cable TV channels were not according to the lists and the signal was pretty bad. On the positive note, my bed and pillow was comfy. Really, considering the high room rates, I think the management need to start improving their infrastructure and services.

Weekend getaway

We have stayed at this hotel many times before. Because of its location and its swimming pool, we feel it is the best hotel in Jayapura. It has a nice pool with limited seating, and a small fitness room. We enjoyed eating ikan bakar next door (barbecued fish), watching a movie at the mall (walking distance), doing karaoke across the street, and going to the beach (about 20 minutes away by car). The breakfast is a pretty good buffet with Indonesian and western choices. Parking is limited, if you drive. There is decent street food nearby. The internet was free and seemed to work fine. It was a relaxing time for our family.

Hotel in Jayapura, near Mall and KFC

Decent Hotel for Papua. We stayed there with 2 young children. The extra bed in the room was helpful. We had an ocean view room which had nice views of the bay and the hills. Easy taxi (mini van on a set route) ride to the Mall and then to KFC. Cheap too. Our family of four could make it all the way to the Mall for less than 50 cents a person. Decent mall with a fun play place for kids on the 4th floor. The pool was nice and had a nice view. Breakfast was pretty good too. We arranged for a taxi driver with the hotel to take us back to the airport in Sentani. Good and punctual and around 35 US dollars. Overall, we plan on staying here again if we are ever in Jayapura.
