Kennet & Avon Canal Trail, England hotel rooms at the Greene King

"Bit better communication between reception and bar staff, wanted a bucket of ice reception told me to go to the bar and the bar staff said I could only have it if I brought a bottle of Prosecco. "

"The menu and restaurant staff were outstanding. Reception showed us to our room which was unexpected but much appreciated. The room was quaint, the electrics a bit of a mystery, but the hotel itself shone in all its Georgian glory."

"Air condition was terrible. One rainy day I came back to my room and the heat was +30. I opened the window and it got four hours until my room was +25 and even that was too hot for me. Luckily I was so tired that I managed to sleep quite well. Otherwise everything went well, the hotel was very clean and breakfast was tasty."

"Not worth the money charged. £195 for a room. No biscuit, bottle of water. No heating in bathroom. Loud AC, lumpy bed. Nothing premium about the premium room. Booked 5 rooms and have to pay for them all individually rather than paying together so took ages. Lady who checked me in was apologetic. Don't pay for breakfast, it was not good quality at all with limited selections for the price they charge. Honestly not a good experience at all. Think they need to consider what they charge. If this was £100 maybe I wouldn't moan but to charge that much is extortionate with no added anything. Also £19 to park is insane! "

"Upon arrival the receptionist was very blunt/rude and not welcoming at all. Made a big fuss about parking my van around the back (like I did with no issue during my last stay) and said I should have contacted the hotel before, which I did with no reply. When I showed her the message she just shrugged it off and said we don’t check bookings made through a third party - but was very happy to take the £600 payment off me!"

"Staff were all very friendly and provided exceptional service. Rooms were clean and bright. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to rooms with windows. Everything was excellent. Be more than happy to stay again. Breakfast was also exceptional 😋 "
