The Chief Motel is a great budget motel. Clearly a locally run motel, it was clean and safe. The woman at the front desk was helpful in answering questions and even provided a capful of laundry soap for a load of laundry. Some areas of the motel show signs of age and a few small areas in the room could use a little patching or paint. However, it was clean and smelled fresh. The room was cleaned and towels replenished daily. A laundry mat and car wash are directly next to the motel. There was a cafe across the street. Walmart and HyBee were within walking distance. For those visiting Nauvoo, it's 10 minutes to the Mississippi River bridge and then another 10 minutes to Nauvoo. This is a perfect option for travelers on a budget.

Pretty good

Very clean for the price. Very nice, accommodating staff. No strange smells in the room or in the bed which is really nice, usually booking via 3rd party apps gets you the crappy rooms but all the appliances worked well, there were toiletries and clean linens in the bathroom. Not sure about breakfast or where it would have been since I missed it.

The room was clean and smelled nice. The beds and linens were very comfortable. The management was kind and available whenever we needed them. We had a very pleasant stay and would stay there again. The only complaint I heard from my husband was about the road noise. There is a stop light right in front of the hotel and the occasional engine breaks were loud. Even with that, we would stay again because of the excellent value for the money.

For the $$ you can't beat it. Clean confortable beds good shower. Main negative, it is Close to the street and has a fair amountof street noise.

I checked reviews before booking and there were many saying it was clean. Wonder what their homes look like. My room was filthy. Something is growing on top of the fridge and the freezer was filthy. The furniture was not in good shape. The supplies for the kitchen area was minimal. No dish soap or paper towels. It was also noisy. Could hear the people above walking. It is on main st and the traffic was expected. The owners were great and nice people
