Nice location. Nice room. Mattress and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Fire alarm went off at 7:02 am for 10 mins. We all came outside and no one gave us any instructions. We waited and returned to our rooms. Also there were little bugs on the floor. Needless to say no luggage or bags were left on the floor. But then again, It's a beach hotel! Very nice.

Overall a really good stay, if you are on the first floor like we were it can be very noisy throughout the day with guests above stomping around or going to the ground floor to get ice. The only true downside was the noise as the room we were in was a conjoined room that was vacant until our second day, we could hear everything very clearly in the other room. All the staff and amenities were nice!

Nicely updated old-style motel. Very clean, fresh light bathroom, high end retro appliances in kitchenette. Loved the covered free-standing decks on the beachfront dunes. Excellent morning coffee with big cups in the breakfast room.

My room was on the first floor just steps away from the beach. The complimentary breakfast was good but seating was limited inside, there's still some nice outdoor seats nearby. I liked the recent renovations in my room especially the bathroom, but seems like some minor items weren't replaced (e.g shower bar and drain). My room also didn't have any wall pictures or decorations at all, which is odd given the great beachfront location. Overall I got good value and would consider returning if I get competitive rates again.

The room was just like the one shown in the photos. The building is old, but what I could see is that it has new paint on the walls of the room. The room was small, it had the necessary space for two people one night’s stay, the beds were very comfortable, the space was very clean. I would definitely recommend this place.

I decided to go with this hotel after much searching and asking around, as we are new to the OBX region, but not NC beaches. It seemed quaint, mid-priced, and of course - oceanfront. The hotel room was aged and not well taken care of. The front door needed to be pushed hard to latch, the AC unit was extremely noisy, flaking paint and warped laminate everywhere. The worst was insulation and the lack of noise reduction between rooms - our neighbors were extremely loud at times and we could hear everything. It made getting my kids down to sleep very difficult. It also presented a challenge when our neighbors would smoke outside the room. The rooms might be nonsmoking but if they step out and it seeps into my room then what's the point? The other occupants seemed careless, messy, loud, and sloppy. It just never seemed worth the $150/night.

The room was clean but the property could use an update. There were no grab bars or anti-slip mats for the tub which was a little precarious when showering. Otherwise the location was great!
