Excellent hotel but a little out-of-the-way.

Wonderful hotel with very comfortable rooms and fantastic staff. The only drawback is that it is about 8 km away from the city with limited surrounding amenities. However, with Uber, it’s easy to get around.

Its a beautiful property but need maintenance. Hotel was continuously coordinating for our stay and preference but at the time of check in late in the night front desk could not trace of our booking !!!!

ITC Sonar- Old World Charm

ITC Sonar has the old world charm. It is trying very hard to stay relevant( and succeeding to some extent) after the advent of its bigger and better hotel next door, ITC Royal Bengal. But, for all its efforts, its a little jaded now. But its a large sprawling property. The Pan Asian restaurant is very good. A must eat place. A tip: Stay at ITC Sonar and use the facilities of its next door neighbor- ITC Royal Bengal

After some initial trouble with the front desk person who was checking me in, I was pleasantly surprised when Adreeja took over and immediately resolved the issue with deft handling and professional courtesy. It was Adreeja's hospitable behaviour that prevented me from changing hotels. After that initial hiccup, however, i faced no issues and had a great stay at Sonar. The staff was extra courteous and went the extra mile to accommodate my requests. 5 stars to Adreeja and her team.

This was my 2nd time staying at ITC Sonar. My experience met my expectation. I try to be a low maintenance guest, however the hotel staff were always trying to ensure that my stay was comfortable. Housekeeping, room service, reception, laundry services, guest relations, checkin staff, security, gym staff, restaurant staff and managers were always doing their best to ensure that guests do not have a reason to complain about. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options. The restaurant staff were polite, respectful and tried to offer the best possible service. Gym was well equipped, clean and spacious. Laundry service was quick and effortless. Room service and reception staff were prompt and professional. The security staff were well trained and were capable of doing their job flawlessly. The front desk was knowledgeable and eager to help. Guest relation staff members were professional. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The bed, linens and furniture were perfect. Elevator worked swiftly. The property was squeaky clean and well decorated for the festive season This is one of my favourite hotels in Kolkata now. This time, I stayed for 10 days and it was a joyful experience. Thank you.
