번잡한 도시 한가운데에서 조용하고 고급스러운 호텔에 머무르고 싶다면 추천합니다.
콜카타 중심에 위치(뉴마켓과 도보 3분거리), 혼잡한 상업지구 안에 이렇게 조용하고 수준높은 호텔이 존재한다는 것이 인도에서 느낄 수 있는 특이한 점인것 같다. 도어맨부터 해서 리셉션, 웨이터까지 모두 미소와 함께 친절이 몸에 베어있는듯 하며, 호텔의 시설들은 오래되었지만 낡았다는 느낌없이 고풍스러운 멋이 있다. 조식의 가지수가 호텔의 수준에 비해 아주 조금 부족하다는 느낌이 든다. 방 크기는 충분히 넓었고, 냉온수가 잘 나오지만 조절하기는 쉽지 않았던 것 같다. 치약, 칫솔, 헤어드라이어를 요청하면 가져다 주는 것인지,방에는 없었다.

Staff & hospitality was outstanding, as usual. Breakfast was very good. Just that guests should be made aware of certain etiquettes, eg gym usage, showering before using the pool & unnecessary screams by the kids should be made aware to the parents so as not to be a bother for guests. If you are uaving a nice movktail in such a beautiful setting and then a child (acting like a brat) screams and the parents dont say anything, it is a bit uncultured & bit uncalled for. Rooms were in great condition & housekeeping was excellent. The gym equipments are slightly worn out but does the work. Overall, my stay was eventful & I'd return to the Grand.

I am very impressed by the hotel’s ambiance, the service given by all levels of staff, the meticulous attention to detail and the joy in their smile, aptly reflecting the moniker of the City of Joy. The rooms are clean, and the towels are sparkly white, something you don’t get to see in some of the 5-star hotels I have stayed in. Well done Hotel Oberoi Grand 👍

I have taken note of your feedback regarding the hotel in need of renovation. Indeed, it does and we have carried out a structural assessment of the entire hotel. Renovation plans are in the pipeline and we hope to commence sometime in July. We will be revamping our guest rooms and bathrooms on priority, keeping its original grandeur intact. We will use this opportunity to address the ingress of moisture and air into the hotel which unfortunately is not in our control due to the present age of the building and adds to the mustiness in the guest rooms, particularly in the monsoon months. Property although very nice in the otherwise busy and dirty Kolkata, could do with some renovation. It looks a bit tired. The reception area was very dull. Rooms I think they are going to renovate soon. Breakfast was the highlight with fantastic choice and all the bells and whistles. Staff is the best asset Oberoi has. Ronak at breakfast was a lovely guy and looked after us so well. Thanks Ronak.

Grand Hotel (now Oberoi Grand) in Kolkata is a gem of its own. It has managed to preserve the vintage India regale in a British era architecture. However what sets it apart are not the structure or the amenities but the attitude of the staff. They far surpass the service standard of any 5 star hotel in India and possibly of the best hotels in the world. They will be at your beck and call 24x7, be it the housekeeping, the in room dining or any other department. They will try to find the best way to make your stay enjoyable and offer above and beyond their work. It is the staff that make this hotel the best in Kolkata if not in the world. They have earned a repeat customer here.

Excellent place to stay
It is an old hotel but has been renovated nicely throughout the hotel. We stayed in premier room for 5 nights . Large bedroom but the bath room is very small. The room serves was excellent. The staff were very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. We have few little issues in the room but they were put right straight away. I wasn’t very impressed with the service in the dining room. Few times we were take to a table which was dirty and we were told sit while they were cleaning. They shouldn’t have take us to the table before cleaning. We were happy to wait for them to clean the table before we were taken to the table. After ordering cooked breakfast there is long waiting some days we were waiting for the menu for over 5 minutes. You will have to wait for tea another 5 times. We had to wait for everything. There are plenty of staff in the dining room but I think they need more training. All the staff including the door men were very helpful. Thank you everyone for making our stay comfortable.

Really nice hotel that is within the busy city but still feels somewhat secluded. Staff was all very nice and helpful. Room was cozy and clean. Easy to walk around to some nearby shopping and locations or grab a ride to explore Kolkata.

This hotel is my favorite in Kolkata. The service is the best ever. But unfortunately the rooms smelled very musty and moldy this time. My husband has ashtma so we had to change room to get a balcony room for the air flow (which they charged), was musty as well! Room#354. We had to turn the AC off and let the natural air flow the whole time by cracking the balcony door open. Maybe it's the particular wing of the hotel since I've stayed there before and didn't have this issue. I think it needs a renovation soon atleast that wing of the hotel. Other than that everything was perfect.

Having said that, I admit the hotel is in need of renovation and we have recently carried out a structural assessment of the entire hotel. We are working closely with a structural engineer and a heritage architect who are assisting us and we hope to commence renovation of our guest rooms and bathrooms in April. We will use this opportunity to address the ingress of moisture and air into the hotel which unfortunately is not in our control due to the present age of the building and adds to the mustiness in the guest rooms, particularly in the monsoon months. Would not return.
We stayed at Oberoi Grand Kolkata during late November 2023. Regardless that our reservation was made 4 months in advance for a premier room with balcony, just two days before arriving, we were informed that it would not be available but after exchanging emails we were then re-confirmed. However, upon arrival we were given a wrong room(luxury) with a balcony and finally we were changed to a premier room but without a balcony, a total disaster caused by the reservations department. It should be mentioned that near the second room assigned #464 there was construction work with hammering that stopped after our complaint. The hotel is beautiful and elegant but it is immersed in the middle of chaos that is perceived not only immediately when crossing the door but also from inside because political demonstrations are being held in front with the use of loud speakers. In short, we could not achieve the experience and tranquility that is expected in a property like this.We ate every time at the hotel and the quality of the food in both the restaurant and room service was excellent. The a la carte menu at the 363 restaurant was limited and several wines were not available.There was a wedding during our stay where the attendees were from a big group mostly from the USA and sometimes it was difficult to find a good table at breakfast or a lounge chair at the pool. I recognize that the staff made every effort to please us and that is appreciated, however we would not return.

The property is an oasis in the bustling older part of central Kolkata. It’s very close to Park Street and many major attractions. The area immediately outside has gotten inundated in recent times with hawkers/ street vendors on rather generous sidewalks. It makes walking to Park Street challenging. It didn’t seem unsafe but just too crowded on the sidewalks to take advantage of the central location of Oberoi Grand by foot.
