Watching the sunset over the beach from the restaurant, the first we had seen in the 10 days rainy days we had been in New Caledonia. And the food was good too. They were helpful in organising tours and transfers

Unsurpassed as courteous and gracious hosts, the people who enhance your stay at the Hotel Kou-Bougny know a think or two about old world French charm combined with the warm respectful Traditional cultural ways of this stunning Pacific Island oasis. Intend to make this a return destination. If you visit, take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints...so it can remain so for others.

Great location. Clean but a bit worn-out room. Comfortable large bed with good quality cotton white linen. Daily room service. Efficient air-conditioning when needed. Beautiful surrounding nature. Helpful staff. Restaurant right on the beach with great food.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kou-Bugny. Île des Pins is simply magnificent — peaceful, beautiful and the perfect place to relax and disconnect. Kou-Bugny has two beautiful white-sand beaches, both incredibly peaceful and surrounded by stunning scenery. The location is truly special. The restaurant was another highlight. They serve beautiful local and French dishes, with a great selection of fresh seafood and meat. Everything we tried was delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they organised our airport pick-up as well as all of our excursions, making everything very easy for us. One of our favourite experiences was the excursion where we were able to swim with manta rays and turtles. Afterwards, we enjoyed an amazing BBQ with huge lobsters and a huge snapper — an unforgettable experience! Thank you to the whole team at Kou-Bugny for your wonderful hospitality. We had a fantastic time and would love to come back!

The restaurant on the crystal sand beach turquoise waters was incomparable. However, the toilet seat in the suite had a lingering odour and the stopper in the bathtub had to be pulled out with a sharp utensil after every bath. The property needs upgrading in general, lots of patched up jobs that look bad, but the beach is superb and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The property is a resort, but an outlying pacific island resort, where not everything will be perfect & replaced at a drop of a hat. It is however wonderfully clean, friendly & the food for lunch & dinner at the restaurant very good & plentiful. The excursions are worth while particularly the tradition canoe around Upo bay. There are two beaches, so one is usually protected from the wind. The only issue I had was trying to get a ferry, so gave up & flew. Booking ferry/flights from outside New Caledonia was challenging & nothing todo with the Hotel

Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities
To he honest, I would expect a lot more considering the price. Amenities were very basic. Everything cost extra and is far from cheap, e.g. transfer, beach towels, breakfast. Super slow WiFi only in reception area. Restaurant staff was inattentive and not really welcoming. Food was good but also expensive. All-in-all not great value for money unfortunately. Would not book again.
