"We are Americans and spent 9 days there during spring break with 10 & 18 year old. We had two room that overlooked the estuary rooms 43 & 44. I recommend these room however they can be a bit loud sporadically during the night because the monkey cage and aquatic birds. We love to bird watch so for us this room was ideal.
The food was overall very good. Not gourmet but it actually exceeded my expectations. No one got sick and we ate raw vegetables, but mainly fish and chicken. The breakfast was similar to any typical Central American breakfast. The service at times was slow but it was a busy holiday week. I thought there was excellent value for the price & quantity of the food. Unfortunately my Spanish didn’t get me far, but the staff did their best to communicate- Make sure you have Google Translate up. The reception and other staff were also very helpful.
The pools and beach are great. We went fishing in the estuary by contacting the front desk it’s $20 an hour for the boat and driver - which was a lot of fun. I recommend bring some retractable rods, tiny hooks, and tackle. We also took some hikes back in the nature preserves. I saw wild parrots and orioles.
I recommend doing day trips like the volcanos and going into downtown San Salvador. To break up your time
I do wish the grounds were cleaner. There is litter in the mangroves and in the nature preserve. This could easily be cleaned up.
We all had a nice time an hope this helps "
"I think we had 2 of the worst rooms in the hotel. They looked nothing like the ones on line...ours were under the restaurant and right by the highway ...we arrived late and got the last available. It took quite a while for the air-conditioning to cool the rooms, and then we heard the traffic until late...and chairs in the restaurant being dragged around at 6 a.m...The safety chain on the door was broken...there were 5 remotes (one for the AC...didn’t try the others)..the bed was hard ( I like a firm mattress ,but this was ridiculous)..the pillow was flat...the shower was big with lots of warm water. I think if we had gotten a room in the back of the pool, things might have been much better...Don't get rooms 17 and 18...and you might be happy ! We were also too late for the free airport transportation...which might also help. "
"My stay here was honestly disappointing. I was really looking forward to it because of the hype, but it didn’t live up to expectations. The room I received was not the same as what was shown in the description, and there were ants throughout the room. When I brought it up, I was told the hotel was fully booked and nothing could be done.
Room service also never showed up after I was told they would, and the food overall was just okay. The hotel itself could definitely use better cleanliness and attention to detail. My room was also a bit of a walk with multiple stone stairs, which made it difficult, especially when leaving. I asked the front desk for help with my bags for departure, and no one came, with no follow-up or apology.
The only highlight of my stay was the view, which was beautiful. Unfortunately, everything else fell short."
"I would not recommend this resort to anyone. This resort was so misleading, it’s not worth it, the workers weren’t attentive, I had a huge issue with the room where I was put into. Didn’t look like the room in the pictures advertised on Expedia. In the end I would not recommend to anyone, I barely got room service. I asked twice and nothing, I had to go to the main desk and ask for water bottles and clean towels. The main door for the room was not locking, I asked someone to come fix it. It took hours for someone to come and I called in the morning. The service was horrible, the food was horrible. It’s not all inclusive as they say. There’s a tiki bar but that’s out of pocket. I’m extremely unhappy with everything. Not worth over $2k for 5 days. "
