The hotel is very noisy and unless you're on the top floor, the sound from floors above travels because the floors are hardwood, not carpet. The air conditioning is also extremely loud.

Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Breakfast very good. I didn’t have my room cleaned one of the days, and the fitness center only has a treadmill and a bike.

The room was clean and the hotel was clean. The staff was friendly! There are food options, bars, and the beach are all in walkable distance. I would stay here again!

Had ants and a giant spider in our bathroom along with mouse droppings. Trim around bathroom door looked chewed through. Room didnt smell good. Could see light all around the main door to the outside nit a very secure feeling. Toilet ran off and on entire time making it hard to sleep. Uncomfortable bed. Breakfast made my husband sick so we went out for breakfast the remainder of our stay. Not what we expected from the Holiday Inn Express brand considering that is why we chose this location.

Property is a great location. Nice walking distance to the beach. The breakfast was pretty good. Just sometimes it gets a bit noisy staying on the 1st floor late at night. Overall great stay!! Would come back.

The property was really close to the beach and within easy driving to UCSD so that was a plus. Hotel was decent and reasonably clean, but seemed a bit run down. The bathroom was pretty tight and difficult to maneuver with two people trying to get up and out in the morning. Really musty and the bathroom fan didn't help much. The complimentary breakfast was just OK - pancake machine not operational and the only egg option had cheese. We ended up checking out early.

Everything was ok, but this is really a budget motel. Lots of noise from cars, rolling carts, doors, loud A/C unit. If you're ok with that, then this is a nice location in a good area.

Our experience was excellent. We arrived about two hours before check in and they allowed us to do an early check in and upgraded us for free to a studio instead of a standard queen. The room had everything we needed and the breakfast was also excellent. It was conveniently located near lots of restaurants in La Jolla and walking distance to the ocean. All of the other major sights were all within about a 20 minute drive. The pool and hot tub area were also very nice but unfortunately the weather was not warm enough to take advantage of them. If you want to stay in a reasonably priced place in La Jolla, I would recommend this Holiday Express.

This property is a hidden gem. Close to downtown La Jolla and the beach. Walking distance to the tide pools. The rooms are spacious and clean, pool is great. Came with family as a pit stop on our way into San Diego and we will definitely be back. What a great little place.
