Disappointing experience – not what we expected from a 5-star hotel We booked this hotel largely because of the Skyline Restaurant, which was prominently featured on Hotels.com and advertised as offering panoramic views across Barcelona. Unfortunately, we only discovered after arriving that the restaurant had been closed for some time. We were told by a member of staff at the pool that it had apparently been closed for around six months due to repairs. There was no mention of this on the Hotels.com listing, we weren't informed at check-in, and there was no obvious signage in the hotel. Had we known beforehand, we would not have booked this hotel. This meant we had to go elsewhere for dinner, resulting in additional food and taxi costs. There were also several other issues which, collectively, didn't feel reflective of a 5-star experience: • No staff actively available to take drinks orders around the pool • No towels provided at the sun-lounging pool area • The cushioned sun loungers had an unpleasant sweat/odour • The lift system was very confusing, particularly when trying to access the gym. On one occasion it took around 20 minutes due to having to change lifts. It's disappointing because the hotel itself has the potential to be a great property, but the experience didn't match the 5-star standard we were expecting or what was presented when we booked. I'd strongly recommend checking directly with the hotel before booking to confirm that the restaurant is actually open
