Kuala Lumpur 3/3: Batu Caves

Not exactly in the city, but one of the recommended places to go when you're in the city. It is very much accessible via the KTM Komuter train. It's one of the most popular Hindu shrines and famous for the humongous statue of Lord Murugan. To get to the temple cave, one must climb the 272 steps. There are many caves in the area but the Temple Cave is the most popular. You will also see a lot of pigeons before getting to the stairs.
And oh, beware of the hungry monkeys. 😁

"It's a homestay. Spacious and good for a big family of 5 or 6. When we reached there, owner was not there. After few frantic calls, owner told to get ourselves a key to the unit. Parking compound was big...BUT, by evening, the whole space was occupied by MILO vehicles and trucks. Apparently, they prepared the favourite drink there at the parking compound. "The pool is really really lovely. I like that it had not just ladders by steps and it wasn't too cold, just a lovely cool temperature. My room was really well designed and very roomy. An irritating problem with the electronic key not working twice was an irritant. Staff are friendly and helpful. A good way to spend a 1 night layover on the way to India when the temperature is 34 degrees and humid.The hotel is very close to the airport and has a shuttle. If times don't match, a taxi fare is not too much."
