“The first thing to be said about this hotel is its location - excellent. Right in the centre of Carvoeiro near the beach and all the restaurants. We arrived about 9pm and were greeted by a slightly grumpy receptionist - no smiles, just matter-of-fact. Not the best start. “The hotel is sort of in center place for accessing major attractions and beaches. However it feels so outdated that rooms reek of antiquity. We were intially given a room without ac and no WiFi but front desk changed it. Lot of mosquitoes around. The night we checked in we could barely sleep coz of the mosquitoes. Front desk arranged for repellent later.”

“We’ve just had a wonderful stay at White Shell. Everything was provided that we required. Some enjoyable restaurants nearby but we had a hire care so explored other towns too. The bikes and padel were welcome additions to our stay. Breakfast had all that was needed and very relaxed atmosphere. The wicker trolley was a bonus too to assist with carrying towels to and from the pool!”
