Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms can use some TLC and ours was in need of an upgrade. Breakfast options were toast, waffles or cereal only. No exercise center as advertised.

Staff was okay. Temp was comfortable. I looked through the drawers for a tv channel guide and found a clear plastic bag with some poop soaked underwear and a poopie blanked stuffed into it. Disgusting!!! And there were roaches, 5 that I counted.

Cheap alternative.

Nice area and friendly. Comfortable beds and good air conditioning. Building not maintained, black mold on the ceiling in the shower and the outlet for the refrigerator microwave didn’t work.

New ownership and remodeling!!

Hurricane stay hotel under remodel paint fumes on all floors. Would have thought they would remodel a floor at a time. Overall very nice staff and basically comfortable. New ownership hotel changing of name forthcoming. Pet friendly is a very great asset!!

It was fine for emergency stay . The bedroom air conditioner and the hallway of the building had a bad smell. Bedroom and bathroom was clean . There is a “remodeling sign” but the appearance is not as good as they showed in the online picture . Thank you to the staff they was friendly and helpful.

Very dirty in the entry way of hotel, Doritos were all over the ground. People were hanging out outside around the entrance as well. Staff was nice, but lobby noisy due to renovations. I left because didn’t feel comfortable. I paid for insurance coverage. It was credited back to my account and the money for the hotel was kept.

We had to ask for fresh sheets as the bedding had what looked like a dirty foot print on the comforter. Then the sheets had hair on them!! When taking a shower, the water never got over luke warm. Staff was very polite and made sure we had what we needes. Their is obvious improvements in the room and that there is construction going on.

Ok stay. Overall the cleanliness wasn’t the best as there was mold on the walls as well as a strong mold smell; half of the blinds were missing, we saw a few “bugs” and ants, there was broken appliances such as the headboard and the handles for the faucets, there was also an old froot loop stuck to the wall, the ac unit Is burned out and old, It looks like people live there, etc. I could go on. Overall, the staff were very nice and the area around the hotel Is nice as there are a lot of places to dine and shop that are walking distance as well as a gas station and It’s quite and safe.

Nice family trying to make an old hotel nicer

A nice family trying to make an old hotel more modern. However, they are not putting their money into the right things in my opinion. An example is the mirror in our room was a smart mirror, but the walls needed to be painted as there were spots that had no paint. Yes it's Florida, however we did get to meet many cockroaches in our room. We could of complained but we just let it be. The bathroom was extremely small and the bathtub/shower was pretty dirty and did not have a stopper for the drain so my fiance had to stuff a washcloth down the drain to take a bath. (She has to clean it herself as it seems housekeeping forgot to??) My fiance grew up in Lakeland so she has a soft spot for the area. It did have great dining options literally next door on either side of the hotel, so that was a plus. Unfortunately though,,until they clean the hotel up, make smart decisions with their renovations, get the Exterminator in the rooms, and paint the walls correctly, we will not be staying here again. I am just giving my opinion. This has an 8.5;rating/10 on hotels.com so some people like this hotel so I urge you to make your own judgements and opinions. On a side note, the family who owns it are very nice so there is that part.

A nice family trying to make an older hotel nice

We stayed 2 nights here as we were visiting family in Tampa/Lakeland Area. As far as cleanliness, all I can say is this hotel is run by a nice family who really is trying to make the hotel nicer. However, they havev a long way to go. They are putting their money into making mirrors in the rooms, smart mirrors, but the walls in our room definitely needed a paint job. The flooring was ok, but saw cockroaches in the room on these floors many times. Yes it's Florida you will get bugs in hotels, but honestly they had many cockroaches. We were not there the first night that much but the 2nd night we ended up staying in and getting dinner. The good thing is they had WIFI and Streaming on the TV, so the entertainment was ok. The hotel is near some good restaurants so that was nice. The bathroom was extremely tiny and the bathtub/shower was dirty a bit. The bed was a King Size bed but was very hard and uncomfortable. So all I can say is they should put their money into more important things than making the mirrors, smart mirrors. It's not my money so I digress. This is just a suggestion. So until they make improvements, renovations, get the Exterminator in all the rooms, and clean the hotel better, we unfortunately will not be staying there again. I will say the family that owns the hotel are very nice so that's a plus.
