  • Selina Hostels at Playa Venao The hostel is new and not finished yet, but it has a great design, is located directly at the beach and the staff is really cool. A con is that there is only one shop which has basically nothing and is really expensive; so you either have to bring your food or eat at the bar in the hostel. The beach itself is good for surfers, but you can also enjoy the waves without a board. There are only two (or maybe three; nobody knows) buses from Pedasí to Playa Venao: once in the morning (I think at 7) and once at 12 o'clock. It takes around 1.5 hours. Keep your eyes open and when you see the sign of the hostel, shout "(la) parada, por favor"

You will not go wrong staying here!

Playa Venao is an incredible beach that does not insist you surf! Great location. (be aware that google maps will take you to the wrong hotel, if that happens, ask around for directions) Room was comfortable, outdoor pool was great. Close to many great restaurants.

Beautiful location right on the beach..perfect surf getaway. Hotel vibe is upscale and relaxed. Super friendly staff, great bar and restaurant. Pool, quality surf rentals. Deluxe suite is large with nice furnishings taht fir the ilupscale tropical vibe of the hotel. On a motorcycle trip and ended up booking 3 extra nights to stay a bit longer.

Other than thumping Rave-Music at absurd decibels one night, this place was great. There was no need to have the music that loud as there was literally nobody in the bar and this is a hotel, not a nightclub. Otherwise, this place is really nice.

El sitio was amazing! Staff was exceptional! There was an issue with the TV in our room and they upgraded us immediately to a new and better room! Restaurant and bar were great with smiling staff! The beach was awesome! Centrally located to other restaurants on either side of the beach and just a short walk to the walking trail/waterfall! Booked a fishing trip with Carl with Playa Venao Fishing who picked us up right at the reception desk and brought us back!! Loved our time at this resort! We will be back!

Very loud music in the bar kept us awake until 2AM. At check out we were told there were 2 chocolate bars missing from the mini-fridge. We did not eat them, and told the lady at the desk we did not. She accused us of LYING and charged my CC $5 for 2 candy bars. Two nights cost $300 , which I paid. Why would we "steal" 2 candy bars valued at a paltry $5! We won't be going back.

Surfing Playa Vanao

This is a great location right on the beach so you can watch the surf and surfers, or hop in the ocean. The rooms are nice and clean, and the grounds are well kept. The buildings are showing some wear and tear from being right on the beach, but overall very nice place.

Over rated room , Walls not painted , Toilet was clogged, restaurant area is under construction, Hotel looks nothing like in the pictures. Should paint the walls from time to time . The only plus was the patio .

Hotel en obras. Desayuno en la palapa central que estaban desmontando. Con un ruido ensordecedor. Desayuno carísimo, cobraban por cada extra sin avisarte ej: cafe con leche te cobran café más el extra de leche, tomate dos rodajas 2€ … total dos desayunos muy regulares ( cafe con leche, tostadas, zumo y huevos revueltos) más de 35€. Dueños de vacaciones y el poco personal que había a en el hotel no supo responder a nuestras quejas
