Being only a 30 minute bus ride from downtown León, it's hard to imagine a beach this beautiful being so deserted.
True, being up for sunrise certainly helps, but even throughout the day the beaches of Las Peñitas are for the most part deserted.

Just be sure to check with the locals before diving into the water; while some stretches are perfect for swimming, others are a little rougher and can be dangerous for the unprepared.
