Friendly reception, hotel with character.

Our stay was relaxing and there was a very friendly welcome from the owners. One evening we had a reception with other guests, both French and English, in the beautiful, large garden. We sampled sparkling wine from Saumur. Our room had a door leading to the garden where we had our own table and chairs. The decor was authentic 18th century perhaps and all the furniture and ornaments were in keeping with a chateaux. Parts of the house go back to 16th Century and there were large fire places in the main two dining rooms. The guests were allowed to use one of the dining rooms whenever they liked. The swimming pool and table-tennis provided us our entertainment as there were no televisions. We were provided with a laptop when we asked.
