"The building is old, but they did make an effort to repair and keep it up. The rooms are outside so I would categorize this as a motel but the sign states, "hotel." The AC unit sounded like it was on its death bed and kept me up most of the night rattling. The pool area is nice, and the employees go above and beyond during your stay. There is a cute little overpriced restaurant inside the front lobby area which I did not eat at during my stay. In order to get to most of the shops, Fountain of Youth, etc., you are going to have to walk 30 minutes or more. Plus, the hotel is right off the main highway, so you'll need to cross it which proved to be tricky since the pedestrian crosswalk light was broken. Overall, it was a good experience since the staff are so helpful. It cost more than it should, but everything is expensive in St. Augustine."
