Hotel Belvedere Locarno
Lovely lake-facing room with a wonderful view. Comfortable bed. Spacious shower with lots of hot water. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to the convent and funicular. The walk back up from town could be a bit challenging for older or unfit people, but we enjoyed it.

Nice location - easy walking to train, along lake ( both directions) and dining options Older building needing some upgrades (eg outlets for the floor lamp and coffee maker!) Lobby a bit tight, and understaffed at checkin.

Hapimag Resort Ascona
Our 3 kids enjoyed the pool and the restaurant was excellent. It was also very handy having the option to reserve your bakery order for pickup each morning along with take out pizzas. Very comfortable 3 nights and the town of Ascona was lovely
