“This is a traditional pub property. The building is 900 years old and the WiFi doesn't work if it's raining--which it was. There are wonky steps. A few things are a bit dinged. But the room was comfy, the bathroom was modern, the food was great, the staff was amazing, and you cannot beat the view of the falls. If you want to stay somewhere with character, this is the place for you.”

“It was a nice place to stay. We would definitely stay there again. The views are amazing and the hiking path is awesome that’s nearby. The breakfast is good too, and the bar stays open late.”

The owners are wonderful people who prepared a 5-star breakfast for our family and complemented it with friendly conversation. “Lovely Loch view doubles. Big comfy bed. Traditional decorations old feel country house hotel with good spa-pool, steam and sauna. Breakfast included. Top gourmet restaurant and service, decent bar and bar snack offer also available. Good VFM overall in a stunning location overlooking Loch Rannoch.”

“Booked an executive double room which was very spacious and had a large bath too. A bit dated overall but clean and we had a lovely overnight stay. Dinner and breakfast were both good quality with gluten free options. I enjoyed using the pool and sauna (pre book) however disappointed the hot tub snd steam room were not in operation. Also, the spa was closed both Sunday and Monday. Hotel is set in extensive grounds and is a 15 minute walk into Aberfoyle. Plenty EV charging points at the hotel....

“To start with the positive, the staff at the reception was extremely friendly and helpful and the view is amazing. The property is well outdated and run down (1980s). The outdoor hallway is a desaster area. There are no restaurants, coffees, shops etc. open in the evening which would typically be the arrival time The hotel next door is the most unfriendly place I have ever come across..... they do not serve Highland Club Residents and therefore there is nothing you can get to eat within 45!...

“The shower didn’t work and there was no hot water so showering was in a dribble of cold water. We did tell the girl on reception but never got fixed. The room was economy so maybe other rooms are better but if you want to close the door while on the toilet then defo pay more. Can’t watch tv in bed as it’s around the corner. The staff were lovely though just didn’t solve the problem and a shower is a must especially in 25 degree heat”

“The property was beautiful but a little of town. Very limited taxi/cabs available therefore one has to ensure that they are organized and pre-book transportation. The staff was extremely accommodating and very polite and helpful”

“The apartment was adequate for two as it had two single beds.most of the furnishings were great but others were a bit tired looking. Parking isn’t the greatest as the bay doesn’t accomodate 2 larger vehicles. We had to park in one of the hotel bays but arriving back at midnight didn’t notice the penalty signs. £100 fine was not a great end to our overnight stay.”
