"Stayed one night while working in Sarasota. Room wasn't anything special. If you're familiar with the Jersey Shore it is similar to a classic beach hotel without a beach in walking distance. Not the cleanest, not filthy either. Bed was comfortable, sheets could be updated. Served its purpose."

We asked for an extra blanket and pillow and this was provided instantly. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked refreshing with a nice grassy area surrounding it and plenty of chaise lounges to relax. With that said, reviews talked about this hotel’s retro vibe. Other than the blue retro mini fridge and microwave, the room and setting were average, ordinary, but sufficient. If you’re looking for a clean simple place to stay, the Golden Host hotel is great. If you’re seeking a unique, unusual, retro vibe, you might be disappointed. "
