Fantastic hotel as my young kid would say! Clean and awesome staff! Everyone was nice.. There’s a porter/bellhop who assisted us when we arrived early evening and he was very nice and adorable! He would always make sure we are doing great everytime we see him around the hotel. Will definitely be back!! Thank you, Garland! We had a good time. :)

This place is amazing, it's like a resort. Has everything you may need on vacation - restaurant with good food, beautiful pool with hot tab and bar by the pool, a small shop, gym, free transportation to Universal Park. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Definitely the best place if you're going to the Universal Studios, or even to the Hollywood area.

Our family did a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood and we were able to book The Garland. Its a nice Hotel, well maintained, nice and courteous staff, love that they have the Trolley and a restayrant on site. Also, it feels pretty safe. The rooms are clean, and taken care of, as well as the rest of the hotel. Hwys really nice that they have special events or games out for the guests, that made us want to come downstairs and enjoy the games. There is one very slight down and that is the bathroom ventilation. There is none for the bathroom. The entire hotel is on a main ventilation system, meaning that the bathroom will ventilate at certain times for the ENTIRE hotel. Unfortunately, these times did not match up when my family needed to use the bathroom. So, it was unplesant to try to use the bathroom after someone had gone "#2". One last thing, is microwave usage. I understand why there are no microwaves in rooms ( as hotel is a bit older, but again well maintained ) Perhaps a suggestion of putting maybe 2 microwaves for guests to use somewhere in dining or lobby area? We wanted to heat up about 4 slices of pizza, but it was going to cost $10 for 1 minute of usage. We ate the pizza cold. If there were new parents that needed to constantly heat up, the $10 additional charge would have been worth it. Sadly, it was not worth it to us. Other than that, its a great hotel with all of the good things i said above. We would book again but making sure to bring aire freshener.
