A work in progress, up on the hill in Luang Namtha town. Interesting place, as no less than 30 monks were toiling away on various projects around the relatively new Buddhist complex.
A must do for all the adventurous type out there. An awesome 3-days experience in the Jungle in Laos. You will hike and spleep in the jungle with two giudes. Amazing experience in the middle of nowhere! #LifeAtExpediaGroup #Trekking #MiddleOfNowhere

Have you ever had your meal on banana leaves? Like the previous evening, our guide prepared a delicious meal for us in the wild - pictured here: dried pork, fresh beans, cabbage, chilli sauce and my favourite: sticky rice. He got up really early in the morning while everyone was still asleep to prepare this for us. The sticky rice preparation is simply out of this world - it's so cool: after chopping off bamboo, the tubes are first lined with big banana leaves, then he inserts the rice and water. The bamboo tubes are sealed and placed in the coals - after about 30min the rice is ready. With a machete he cuts the bamboo open and removes the long rice roll before cutting the rolls into smaller ones. So delicious! We only did 10km of kayaking today - and we were exhausted. I have no idea how we managed 30km last week in Vang Vieng....! Our arms were like jelly and in the end we did more breaks than actual paddling.oh yes and of course we floated backwards way too many times! I think I'll give kayaking a miss for a while. :) Looking forward to spend a few weeks in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Thinking about doing a cooking class and a massage course - and of course, i'll be booking a few massages for myself too.
