This is my favorite hotel in Lyon. I have stayed there half a dozen times. Can't beat the location on the river and easy access to dining. Also, as a dog owner, I love that there is a dog park half a block away and a large green space at the end of the same block. The staff is always helpful and friendly. No need to look further, this is THE place to stay in Lyon.

Excellent location and service

We enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel. Not only was it an excellent location (in between the Rue Victor Hugo and Rue de la République and near Vieux Lyon), but the service was exceptional. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The icing on the cake was the turn down service. We would absolutely return!

Brilliant hotel

Amazing from start to finish and much needed. The bellman was so helpful and parked AND charged my car and took our bags up, we were upgraded for free at checkin and everything was just amazing. A breath of fresh air for my nana and I on her bucket list tour

Definitely not a 5 start hotel. Old and tired. Stuck in the 70s and in need of a major renovation. Bathrooms smelled badly and it was just terrible.
