“A lovely hotel in a very beautiful location. A perfect place to stay if you want to walk or explore the local area. The walk down to the waterfall was good though not one for everyone, the last few meters up the valley over rocks was a bit of a scramble and you definitely want to take it easy on the walk back up the hill. We saw a barn owl hunting in the fields behind the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice garden that was well maintained.”

“Such a lovely traditional pub with good accommodation, situated in a pretty rural setting, a short drive away from Pickering. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. My husband and I had an evening meal in the pub which was excellent, as was breakfast the following morning. Pet friendly. Would definitely recommend the Horseshoe Inn.”

“A lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage has everything you need and the bedrooms are a good size too. There are several uneven, steep steps walking up to the cottage so I wouldn’t recommend it to people who are unsteady on their feet. The owners left some biscuits and milk on the fridge which was a nice gesture. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future when visiting Whitby.”

“La Rosa is one on it's own. It's a unique place to stay. If you're wanting the general grey, black and white decorations then don't go there. It is Victorian in style and they have obviously searched all over to find little artifacts to match the theme of the rooms, each one different. The views over the harbour and wide open sea and over to the Abbey are incredible. The staff are really friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. John the dog will bark...

“Wonderful cottage close to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. Really cosy, spacious property great for families. Lovely log burner for winter nights. In a picturesque hamlet that is a 10 minute drive to the centre of Whitby. Wonderful views from the kitchen and great for star gazing from the skylight on the third floor. ”
