The bathroom arrangement is not good. The lavatory is in a separate cubicle which is OK but means there is no basin immediately available to wash your hands in. The main problem is the shower/bath. The shower is behind a quite long glass screen at the top of the bath. While it is nice to have a bath available the side is so high it was quite difficult for me, an elderly lady, to get into and out of to have either a bath or a shower. I had a bath but as the soap is in a container fixed to the wall at a height for shower users I had to stand up from my bath every time i needed soap to wash with. Not ideal! The lavatory flush was not good. Working sometimes but now always.

Great, however…
Great hotel but as a sleep apnoea sufferer, it would help no end to have a plug socket next to the bed to plug my CPAP machine into. I had to trail a cable across the room, which then created a trip hazard when I had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Great staff, not the best facilities
The staff are lovely, very helpful and polite. Breakfast and restaurant also really nice. Rooms really need upgrading, faded walls and dated furniture, every cupboard door creaked as you opened it and the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest. Although the windows have extra protection from sound with a double barrier, the rooms are very loud and echoey so you can hear everything your neighbours are doing, even using the bathroom.

Good hotel, great staff
Very efficient from arrival to checkout, very friendly and helpful staff. EV charger was out of order when we arrived but staff soon rebooted it and had it working. John Gilbert pub across the car park was good for dinner, breakfast in the hotel was fine too. Ideal location for RHS Bridgewater but also worth walking down to explore the canal.
