Loved the charming little place. Stayed in the tower suite--so nice and spacious and beautiful views. Nice simple and delicious breakfast. Little wine and cheese in the afternoon was nice.

Beautiful place, very clean and quiet. Gorgeous view from all rooms however next time we will request the 3rd floor with balcony to have an even better view.

If we ever get the chance to come back to the Outer Banks we will stay here! The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The owner and staff were all kind and helpful and it’s close to everything. 5 stars all around!

This place was great! I’m definitely going to come back soon. Good distance for those that want to be close kitty hawk and nags head but not directly in the middle of everything. Great view and very comfortable space.

It was a great neighborhood & good location for local attractions. The view from the balcony was great! The 2-bedroom suite was perfect for me & my daughter. I have no complaints- only praise.

The Burrus House was awesome. The place was clean, beautiful decor, staff was very friendly and we had everything we needed. The cheese and cookies were a great addition and breakfast was wonderful. Very relaxing. Lots of restaurants close by too. We even saw a bride and groom taking pictures at sunset which was special because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Definitely will stay there again.

This 12 room boutique hotel is exquisite. I highly recommend you stay there, but I must insist you don’t go through Expedia. Not that I don’t appreciate the convenience that the interface gives when I’m booking travel, but this particular hotel is worth getting to know on a one on one basis, and it will avoid the confusion of being given the wrong room number and getting all excited for a room you don’t stay in. Tina and Donna Maye we’re lovely hosts, welcoming and not overbearing The accommodations I was given were better than pictured.

Beautiful view, convenient location, very clean and comfortable, roomy. Bed was comfortable. Lots of stairs, even a couple of places in the suite with a step where we had to be mindful. We were there on a Sunday and Monday, so price was reasonable. Wine and snacks in the late afternoon were appreciated, as was coffee in the morning. Breakfast was just pastries, yogurt and orange juice, so we went out for breakfast.

I recommend especially if seeking R&R. Initially, not totally impressed with the location as I drove into the parking lot. However, the updated room and the water view was outstanding. I would highly recommend!

This property is absolutely beautiful. The views, the balconies, the town are all just amazing. It was by far the cleanest place I have ever stayed and the rooms are spacious and lovely.

One of our favorite properties ever visited!

Wonderful property. Right on the sound. Great views and amenities. We loved the use of the bicycles, kayaks, and paddles boards. Staff was friendly. Property was clean and well maintained. Happy hour charcuterie board and wine was nice touch. We would definitely love to visit and stay again. Great access to the bridge to Nags Head and also nice downtown Manteo area.

The view from the room of the sound was beautiful and peaceful. Would suggest that for room 202, a full curtain would be put up since the blinds do not cover the entire window. Also would have liked to have another chair for the table since we ate super in the room. The outside, cloth shower curtain had mold spots at the bottom. We loved our restful time at the inn. Would go back.

I can't say enough great things about Burrus House! We decided to visit Manteo on a whim, and were delighted to see that Burrus House had a suite available. First, this hotel is quite possibly the cutest place I have ever seen. Grey shingled mansion right on the marsh, with an unbelievable view of the water and Downtown Manteo. Our suite was impeccably decorated and well-appointed with everything we needed - a super comfortable king bed, huge bathroom, sitting room, kitchen and wrap around patio with a wonderful view of the water. The staff went above and beyond - they set out a great happy hour every evening, and a delicious breakfast every morning! They were friendly, accommodating and offered us some great restaurant recommendations! Burrus House also has canoes, paddleboards and cruiser bikes available for free - AMAZING. We had a great time cruising into downtown Manteo on the bikes every afternoon. Like I said, I can't say enough great things about this hotel. Highly recommend!
