Our room smelled of disinfectant when we checked in. The hallway carpets were worn and smelled moldy. Our room smelled so bad, we weren't sure if we could stay there. When we went out for dinner, we left the bathroom fan on (the only window is sealed shut due to "wildlife issues") and returned two hours later to find the smell tolerable. The carpets definitely need replacing and a good disinfecting. The entire bathroom needs to be rebuilt. The newly replaced toilet was set back underneath the existing vanity top and shelf. It was set back so far under the shelf, the toilet seat would not stand open without holding it. To use the toilet, you had to lean forward and back onto the toilet seat! The replacement toilet was a complete waste of money for the owners. There is only ONE restaurant in Marathon that is consistently open so bring food with you and plan to picnic dine.

Management was rude and not helpful. No place to eat and the gas station next door closes early. None of the vending machines work so bring your own water and snacks. Or just sleep in your car.
